[Verse 1]
Virginia High School
I was born and raised
Boys and Girls Club
We was hooping ever day
I can't let my people down
Tryna put on my town
Dreams don't come without resistance
So I'm looking up to higher visions
Yeah yeah

[Pre-Chorus]
All they ever said was that we would be what they said
You said differently
You said differently
All they ever said was we'd be just like them
But you said differently
You said differently

[Chorus]
Gotta keep my eyes on you, you, you, you, you, you
Gotta keep my eyes on you, you, you, you, you, you
Virginia Boy, keep my roots
Gotta keep me eyes on you, you, you, you, you, you

[Verse 2]
Can't believe we made it this far
18 record deal no car
They all saying that I'm lucky too receive it
When I'm looking at my scars I kind of see it
My family got my back
I hope I pay ‘em back
Don't wanna mess it up can I tell the truth
We can't get a house cause I'm always in the booth

[Chorus]
Gotta keep my eyes on you, you, you, you, you, you
Gotta keep my eyes on you, you, you, you, you, you
Virginia Boy, keep my roots
Keep my eyes on you, you, you, you, you, you

[Pre-Chorus]
All they ever said was that we would be what they said
You said differently
You said differently
All they ever said was we would be just like them
But you said differently
You said differently

[Chorus]
Gotta keep my eyes on you you you
Gotta keep my eyes on you you you
Virginia Boy Keep my Roots
Keep my eyes on you
Gotta keep my eyes on you you you
Gotta keep my eyes on you you you
Virginia Boy Keep my Roots
Keep my eyes on you
