Songwriter: Abstract

[Chorus]
Yo, yeah, yeah
Yeah, Abstract, haha
Alright, yeah
Don't sleep on me (Nah)
Don't do it
Don't sleep on me (Nah)
Don't sleep on me
Don't sleep on me (Nah)
Don't do it (Why?)
Don't sleep on me
My crew party all night, why? 'Cause they don't sleep on me
Realize what I write, don't underestimate the things I gon' be
Nah, don't sleep on me
Y'all be sorry if you ever ever slept on me

[Verse 1]
Sat down, looked into the reflection
What lies beneath my eyes even I get perplexed in
Even friends are gettin' mad 'cause they see my direction
I'm headed up? Yeah, above all the haters
Should I mention fuck you? That's for now and that's for later
Angry 'cause I actually got a scheme full of paper
Call me Ass-Crack, yeah now you're fuckin' cool
You're pounded again, you clit-ridin' tool
Everybody's so watered down so I 'cause waves when I hit the pool
Hate now, wave at me when I'm famous, you dumb fools
I just wanna make it though
Always kick the real shit
But the top is where I have to go
I'm kinda different 'cause Wyoming's where I'm livin', yo
But with these lyrics, I'm just hopin' that one day I'm gon' blow
I ain't gon' lie, I'm scared for my future
I know everyone worries, so time's a torture

[Chorus]
Don't sleep on me
Nah, nah, don't sleep on me
Don't sleep on me
My crew party all night
'Cause they don't sleep on me (Nah)
Realize what I write, don't underestimate the things I'm gon' be
Things I'm gon' be
Nah, don't sleep on me (Nah)
Nah, nah, don't sleep on me
Don't sleep on me
Yo, don't—don't sleep on me
Don't do it

[Verse 2]
Yeah, yo
Rocksteady, rock levies, I'm spittin' that incredi
While y'all talkin' bowl-hitting paper, ink ready
In my head is always full
Killin' beats with Audible
My flow is makin' goals, your score's lookin' like no
When I makin' millions, y'all be makin' ones
So hit the post, speak the fake shit
Y'all got that I Can't Believe It's Not Butter flow
Still, I'm the only one kickin' that real shit who on a roll
They tell me I don't work hard enough
I tell 'em motherfuck an honor roll
I'm the next one to be awarded as far as the honors go

[Chorus]
Don't, don't (Yeah)
Nah, nah, nah
Don't sleep on me
Don't sleep on me
Nah, nah, nah
Don't sleep on me
Don't do it
Realize all the things that I'm gon' be (Nah)
I'm gon' be (Nah)
Don't sleep on me, nah
Y'all be sorry if you ever took the time to sleep on me
Yeah, don't sleep on me
Don't do it

[Verse 3]
Yo, if you didn't know by now—
Yeah, I'm Abstract
Rip trick and stick those who be actors actin' mad wack
My soles are never fake, so you know I only kick facts
Guarantee to always keep it real, screw me with your record deal
Radio is wack 'cause no one's spittin' what they really feel
Kids do whatever it takes just to make another mil'
With that said, high school be kinda like the rap game
Act like the popular ones get automatic local fame
Nah, that's where it ain't the same
Real recognize real—can't say that I know your name
Act dumb, hide your pain, follow others like you in chains
Next day get up and brush it off, then do it all again
Ain't that the life, right? Nope, people, not quite
Life ain't goin' let you follow someone into limelight
So I spit the truth until I die
One side is sayin' "Word," the other side is askin' "Why?"
Tried to make everyone happy, got bored, got real eyes
Thought about what I was strivin' for, then I realized
It was the vent, they barely let my mind go
Let the bad things all fuckin' forget
Stop givin' a damn, got back the flow
Now I'm ballin' ahead to toe
Ballin' on a budget though
Still gon' rock them hella box logos
Step in the room, y'all get Chumby like pogos
Y'all read me wrong though, here's a box of Rodós

Abstract

Growing up in New Jersey, Luke Terkovich, otherwise known as Abstract, was involved with music at an early age. Learning how to play piano, electric guitar, and the drums were Luke’s first involvement with music — and he did it all before 6th grade. With a move across country from New Jersey to Jackson, Wyoming, the distance between learning and playing new instruments got larger. It wasn’t until several years later that Luke began to mess around with freestyling during his high school years spent at Jackson Hole High. Evolving his newly found musical expression into Raised in Jackson, WY, Abstract is known for his immense musical versatility and affinity for providing uplifting music for a turbulent world. With a knack for storytelling, he provides introspective motivation to all who take the time to dive into his work. Notably known for his remix of Ruth Bs Lost Boy “Neverland” which has garnered hundreds of millions of plays on YouTube, his work with Drumma Battalion and Roze, and his 2016 album Something to Write Home About. He heads a collective known as “A Team Worldwide” 5 musicians from 4 different countries. Producers Drumma Battalion of Norway, Blulake of Sweden, Cryo Music of Scotland, and Abstract. Coming off his first overseas tour with YONAS, the ATWW collective is gearing up to drop Abstracts new album/experience late summer 2018.writing detailed lyrics, he began to find that he could vent the stresses of his everyday life through creating music. Slowly progressing through the years of his new town where he calls home; balancing school, life, and music developed Luke to become Abstract.

Trying to find his sound was a young teenager who just looked to get something written down and then translated into music, and eventually rap. Still in his caterpillar stage of metamorphosis was a young Abstract who released his first ever collection of songs, properly named The Dream.

In 2012, through YouTube, Abstract met Craig McAllister, a producer from Glasgow, Scotland. During that period, Abstract was in the midst of working on On My Own Time and was the first time Craig showed up with Abstract. Afterwards, the duo started to mesh extremely well and produced the five projects, Under Lights & Microscopes, A Life To Live By, Dreaming With Eyes Open, The Science Of Feeling Tall, and We Are The Artist.
