Songwriter: Abstract

[Intro: Abstract]
Yo, that's the motto
Yeah, that's the motto
Alright, here we go

[Verse 1: Abstract]
Is he a kid or a god? Just a phase or a heartthrob?
Kids get Parkinson's 'cause I make their heads nod
Yeah they got ears, don't listen so they [on the cop?]
Can't make their own style, so they all try to rap
Yeah they tell me I got room to movin' in my improvement
But everyone does, so what I got in my head is true shit
Bitch, I either use it or lose it
Y'all takin' turns, I'm on the speed, locked in
Abstract, who you know in the west who can do it better than?
Got a head and a pen 'cause I don't fuck with the [lev?]
Rather spit 'til I got nothin' in my face, turn blue instead
I'm an embarrassment to my past
'Cause my lyrics make her face red
Fuck the drugs and the feds
This right here be my mothafuckin' street-cred
If you sleepin' on the kid
I'm comin' to your house and burnin' your bed
Ain't nothin', just reppin' the 307
If I don't get the cards, then I better get the cred
Runnin' circles 'round these kids while they on their first leg

[Chorus: Drake & Abstract]
Now she want a photo, you already know, though (Yeah)
You only live once: that's the motto, nigga, YOLO
And we bout it every day, every day, every day
Like we sittin on the bench, nigga, we don't really play (Yeah)
Every day, every day, fuck what anybody say (Every, every, every day)
Can't see 'em 'cause the money in the way, real nigga, what's up? (Yeah, yeah)

[Verse 2: Abstract]
Yeah I'm in the studio while y'all too lazy
Give me two years in this, "Fuck you, pay me"
My flows like "Always," y'all like "Maybe"
Fuck the haters, I make tracks but y'all can't trace me
Like the [JH PD?]
Fuck what I said, the game gon' need me
Yeah I got cigs but no clue where the weed be
I put my heart in every line like a less-than-three in every text
Livin' off the compliments and steady gainin' confidence
I got respect for all the rappers that came before me
Hopefully, this is the life
Saw the haters tried to mothafuckin' warn me
Lookin' at these kids like, "How hard could this be?"
I'm just another voice in the crowd, yeah it's risky
Not another hand though, I own the stage
I got this good shit that got you turnin' the page
Didn't do it for the fame, I did it 'cause of the rage
But now it's okay, I speak my heart all day
Don't care if you're offended by the shit I gotta say
Forgot it in my head then when I tried to portray
Fastest in the relay
Always fast, no delay
Spit shit so fast you gon' need an instant replay
If my mind's a state, then confidence my providence
Chillin' under your bed, I'm on my monster shit

[Chorus: Drake]
Now she want a photo, you already know, though (Yeah)
You only live once: that's the motto, nigga, YOLO
And we bout it every day, every day, every day
Like we sittin on the bench, nigga, we don't really play
Every day, every day, fuck what anybody say
Can't see 'em 'cause the money in the way, real nigga, what's up?

Abstract

Growing up in New Jersey, Luke Terkovich, otherwise known as Abstract, was involved with music at an early age. Learning how to play piano, electric guitar, and the drums were Luke’s first involvement with music — and he did it all before 6th grade. With a move across country from New Jersey to Jackson, Wyoming, the distance between learning and playing new instruments got larger. It wasn’t until several years later that Luke began to mess around with freestyling during his high school years spent at Jackson Hole High. Evolving his newly found musical expression into Raised in Jackson, WY, Abstract is known for his immense musical versatility and affinity for providing uplifting music for a turbulent world. With a knack for storytelling, he provides introspective motivation to all who take the time to dive into his work. Notably known for his remix of Ruth Bs Lost Boy “Neverland” which has garnered hundreds of millions of plays on YouTube, his work with Drumma Battalion and Roze, and his 2016 album Something to Write Home About. He heads a collective known as “A Team Worldwide” 5 musicians from 4 different countries. Producers Drumma Battalion of Norway, Blulake of Sweden, Cryo Music of Scotland, and Abstract. Coming off his first overseas tour with YONAS, the ATWW collective is gearing up to drop Abstracts new album/experience late summer 2018.writing detailed lyrics, he began to find that he could vent the stresses of his everyday life through creating music. Slowly progressing through the years of his new town where he calls home; balancing school, life, and music developed Luke to become Abstract.

Trying to find his sound was a young teenager who just looked to get something written down and then translated into music, and eventually rap. Still in his caterpillar stage of metamorphosis was a young Abstract who released his first ever collection of songs, properly named The Dream.

In 2012, through YouTube, Abstract met Craig McAllister, a producer from Glasgow, Scotland. During that period, Abstract was in the midst of working on On My Own Time and was the first time Craig showed up with Abstract. Afterwards, the duo started to mesh extremely well and produced the five projects, Under Lights & Microscopes, A Life To Live By, Dreaming With Eyes Open, The Science Of Feeling Tall, and We Are The Artist.
