[Verse 1]
You show no hesitation
Show some emotion
What do you want to do?
You're living like a daydream
You let the beauty loose

[Pre-Chorus]
With a education born in this nation
What do you want to do?
Your sitting in front of the tv
Or dance the night away

[Chorus]
Your daddy can't take you home
Your daddy can't give you answers
Your daddy can't give you feelings of your own
Your daddy can't take you home
Your daddy can't give you answers
Your daddy can't give you feelings of your own

[Verse 2]
Why you are such an ignorant and misbehaving child
Is what everybody wants to know
You blame your family for every careless in the past
You're just taking cover from yourself

[Chorus]
Your daddy can't take you home
Your daddy can't give you answers
Your daddy can't give you feelings of your own
Your daddy can't take you home
Your daddy can't give you answers
Your daddy can't give you feelings of your own

[Verse 3]
Your daddy can't take you home
How can I protect you from yourself?
Why you are such an ignorant and misbehaving child
Is what everybody wants to know
You blame your family for every careless in the past
You're just taking cover from yourself

[Bridge]
You want to be a person who everybody knows
You're strong enough to speed your time…. You down
Without your family You're lost on your own
Stop blaming him now for the things he said to you
He's not a bad dad

[Chorus]
Your daddy can't take you home
Your daddy can't give you answers
Your daddy can't give you feelings of your own
No no no
Your daddy can't give you feelings of your own

[Bridge 2]
With a education born in this nation
What do you want to do?
Your sitting in front of the tv
Or dance the night away
You show no hesitation
Show no emotion
What do you want to do?
You're living like a daydream
You let the beauty move loose
With a education born in this nation
What do you want to do?
Your sitting in front of the tv
Or dance the night away

[Chorus / Outro]
Your daddy can't take you home oh
Your daddy can't take you home oh
No no no
How can I protect you from yourself?
No no no
How can I protect you from yourself?

Ace of Base

Ace of Base Is a Swedish pop group who scored a string of international hits in the early-to-mid 1990s. They’re best known for their upbeat reggae-tinged dance-pop songs, including “The Sign”, which was the biggest hit of 1994, according to The Billboard US chart.

The group’s core lineup consisted of producers Ulf “Buddha” Ekberg and Jonas “Joker” Berggren, along with singers Malin “Linn” Berggren and Jenny Berggren (the three Berggrens are siblings). In the early ’90s, their debut single “Wheel of Fortune” became a hit in Scandinavia, which led to the group connecting with producer Denniz Pop (who would later spawn the careers Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, and Max Martin).

After the group’s 1992 debut Happy Nation became an international hit (going on to sell 21 million copies), it was re-released in North America in 1993 as The Sign. Three singles from the album became top five pop hits in the US, including “All That She Wants” (#2), “Don’t Turn Around” (#4), and “The Sign” (#1 for six weeks). The Sign went on to sell over 10 million copies.
