[Intro]
I believed in God back in 8th grade
He could smoke an eighth on a school day
Remember when you laughed at my last name
Now I go by Met is that less lame of a last name

[Verse 1]
I believed in God back in 09
Always down to hang
He had no time
Yeah
But in a couple of years
I’ll be so outta here
I’ll have a lotta new friends
And I won’t even care

[Chorus]
I don’t ever think of you
I got too much stuff to do
Should have left you back in school
Joseph do you think I’m...
I don’t ever think of you
Look at all this stuff I do
I’ve playеd shows in Belarus
Now Joe do you think I’m cool

[Verse 2]
I could make a jokе but it feels strange
Every time she laughed it would feel fake
But you could make her
Laugh in a real way
Yeah I still use your jokes
And they go great

It took a little while but I found love
I thought you’d reply
You just thumbed up
I play a lot of shows but you don’t come
I don’t even mind this is so dumb
So dumb

[Chorus]
I don’t ever think of you
I got too much stuff to do
Should have left you back in school
Joseph do you think I’m...
I don’t ever think of you
Look at all this stuff I do
Probably not as much as you
Still Joe do you think I’m cool

[Bridge]
I don’t ever think of you
I don’t ever think of you
I don’t ever think of you
I don’t ever think of you

[Verse 3]
I got friends all up the coast
Proud of all the songs I wrote
But I can’t take this backpack off
It comes with me where I go

Maybe I’ll put out this song
And I won’t change your name at all
Maybe then you’ll call me up
And you’ll tell me how cool I got

AJR

The indie-pop band AJR—three brothers born and raised in New York City—achieved a startlingly quick level of success with 2013 track “I’m Ready", a buoyant electro-pop smash that was featured in the trailer for Amy Schumer’s Trainwreck and became certified US Platinum in 2015.

Adam Met (bass/vocals), is the oldest brother, a Columbia University graduate. Ryan Met (ukulele/piano/vocals), a bespectacled ‘94 kid is the band’s main songwriter, also having co-written Andy Grammer hits “Back Home” and the certified gold “Good To Be Alive”. Jack Met (vocals/guitar), is the lead vocalist who splits time between the band and attending Columbia.

AJR began in 2005, busking on the streets and in the parks of New York. Raised on vinyls from the 50s and 60s, AJR was initially inspired by the likes of The Beach Boys and Frankie Valli, but the original sound they’ve now created resembles a modern mix of those classic sounds, with flavors of Imagine Dragons, fun., and hip-hop production elements pointing towards Kanye West.
