It started harmless enough
Animal infatuation
But something within it prevailed

You were a sweet amalgamation
Of all the parts I have loved
The hottest slippery slope

And out came depth
And out comes healing
Out comes friendship unlike any I have known

Happy Anniversary, baby
You've gone from a prince into a king
Happy Anniversary, darling
I've gone from a maiden to a queen

Continued and softened us up
Our rocks are hewn by this water of love
And steadfast: our pinky swear

And out comes fun
And out comes relief
Out comes championing unlike any I have known

Happy Anniversary, baby
You've gone from a prince into a king
Happy Anniversary, darling
I've gone from a maiden to a queen

How far have we come
And how far we've yet to go
'Til we're gray, great grandparents
'Til we're one tiny little wrinkle

I say I do, I do, I do

Happy Anniversary, baby
You've gone from a prince into a king
Happy Anniversary, darling
I've gone from a maiden to a queen

And so, we'll traipse from Paper through Diamonds
A family tree's genesis
Our fingers 'twining together

And out comes ever
And out comes alchemy
And out comes drooling on your chest

Happy Anniversary, baby
You've gone from a prince into a king
Happy Anniversary, darling
I've gone from a maiden to a queen

Ohh-oh-oh-ohh
Ohh-oh-ohh
Ohh-oh-oh-ohh, ohh-oh-ohh, oh-oh-ohh

Ohh-oh-oh-ohh
I do, I do, I do
Ohh-oh-ohh
I do, I do, I do
Ohh-oh-oh-ohh, ohh-oh-ohh, oh-oh-ohh
I do, I do, I do...

Alanis Morissette

Alanis Nadine Morissette was born on June 1, 1974, in Ottawa, Canada. At age 6, she began taking piano lessons, and by the time she was 9, she was writing her own songs.

When she was 11, Morissette joined the cast of a Nickelodeon children’s show called You Can’t Do That on Television, and saved up her earnings. In 1987, she used them to self-release her first track, “Fate Stay With Me.” The song caught the attention of record label MCA Canada; at age 14, Morissette signed a contract with the company. She released a self-titled album, Alanis, in 1991, which went platinum. Quickly following up the success of her first album, Morissette released Now Is The Time a year later, though it did not reach the same level of popularity.

In 1994 Morissette moved to Los Angeles teamed up with industry veteran Glen Ballard, and she began to approach songwriting more organically.
