[Verse 1]
Your heart is a lab of anxiety
A center of insecurity
You keep me under a microscope
Experimenting and taking notes
Magnifying actions, dissecting reactions
Collecting my feelings in test tubes
Oh, oh-oh-oh
I call to say I'm coming home a little late
So you don't have to stay up and wait
Examinations, accusations full of doubts
And you ruin my girl's night out

[Pre-Chorus]
Where has my baby gone?
I haven't seen you in so long

[Chorus]
Our love used to be so effortless
Elements mixed with trust and a kiss
That chemistry no longer exists
'Cause jealousy turned you into
Jealousy turned you into
A mad scientist, ooh
Mad scientist, ooh (Oh, oh)
A mad scientist, ooh
Mad scientist, ooh

[Verse 2]
Whenever we go to a party
You constantly have your eye on me
Keeping me not far out of reach
How can I have fun on a leash?

[Pre-Chorus]
I want my baby back
Instead of this maniac

[Chorus]
Our love used to be so effortless
Elements mixed with trust and a kiss
That chemistry no longer exists
'Cause jealousy turned you into, mm
Jealousy turned you into

[Bridge]
Where has my baby gone? (Where are you?)
I haven't seen you in so long (Oh, so long)
I want my baby back
Instead of this maniac, maniac

[Chorus]
Our love used to be so effortless
Elements mixed with trust and a kiss
That chemistry no longer exists
'Cause jealousy turned you into
Jealousy turned you into
Jealousy turned you into a mad scientist, ooh
A mad scientist, ooh (Oh, oh)
Mad scientist
Take off your lab coat (Lab coat)
Mad scientist
Get on the love boat (Love boat)
Mad scientist, ooh
So mad (Mad), maniac (Maniac)
A mad scientist, ooh
A mad scientist, ooh
