[Intro]
When you love me like that
When you love me like that

[Verse 1]
My beautiful lover
I still remember
We used to be young once
I loved you even then
I wanted to tell you
But I was just a little girl, mhm
But now you are mine, and
It's like we both have been
On Fantasy Island, together once gain
As long as you're where I am
There's nowhere better in the world

[Pre-Chorus]
Ooh honey, honey, hold me tight
Make me believe in love tonight
And in the morning
Wake me up while you whisper
Sweet words that I love

[Chorus]
You turn me out, you turn me out
When you love me like that
You make a believer I have no doubt
(When you love me like that)
The things that you do with love
I could never give it up
(I just couldn't give it up)

[Verse 2]
The things that excite me
You seem to know them all
You really must like me
'Cause every time you call
You never stop saying
The prettiest of pretty words
Sugar, honey, sweetie, baby
You always know just what to say when I'm afraid
You take me and hold me (Honey) and chase the blues away
And then you tell me the sweetest things I've ever heard

[Pre-Chorus]
Ooh, no, no one loves like you
I dream about us all night through
And in the morning when we rise
I know that look of love's there in your eyes

[Chorus]
Turn me out, you turn me out
When you love me like that
You make a believer I have no doubt
(When you love me like that)
The things that you do with love
I could never give it up
(I just couldn't give it up)
When you love, when you love, when you love
(When you love me like that)
Couldn't give it up, boy
(When you love me like that)
Calling your name
Ooh, when you love, when you love, when you love
When you love me like that
I could never
(I just couldn't give it up)
Never never never never

[Outro]
Down on my knees for your love, boy
When you love me like that
When you love me like that
When you love me like that
Oh, when you love me like that
I couldn't stand it, I could never live without it
I just couldn't give it up
When you love, when you love, when you love
When you love me like that
Ooh baby
When you love me like that
Never, never, never, never give it up
I just couldn't give it up

Aretha Franklin

Aretha Franklin is both a 20th and 21st century musical and cultural icon known simply by her first Aretha. She is the reigning and undisputed “Queen Of Soul” with a legacy that spans five decades. A native of Detroit, Michigan, Aretha began her career singing gospel at her father, minister C. L. Franklin’s church as a child. In 1960, at the age of 18, Aretha embarked on a secular career, recording for Columbia Records with modest success.

After moving to Atlantic Records in 1967, she released a steady string of US top ten hits through 1973 including “Spanish Harlem”, “Chain Of Fools”, “Baby I Love You”, “Since You’ve Been Gone”, “Daydreaming”, “The House That Jack Built”, “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman", ”Think“ and her first chart-topper “Respect” – a song that also won Aretha her first of 18 Grammys. During this time, several of her songs were also successful overseas.

By the mid-70s, Aretha’s commercial success waned and she left Atlantic for Clive Davis' Arista Records in 1980. Her 1982 song “Jump to It,” returned her to the top 40 for the first time in six years. 1985’s Who’s Zoomin' Who? got her back into the top 10 twice with its title track and “Freeway Of Love”. Four more songs reached the top 40 through 1986.
