[Verse 1]
I trusted a priest
I fell to his feet
And he raised me up there
Then cut me off at the knees
I trusted the law
They didn’t help me at all
I wound up black, blue, screwed
In the back of his car

[Pre-Chorus]
I don't wanna wake up alone
I need you to hear me now
I don't wanna do it alone
I need you here with me now

[Chorus]
I don't wanna wait for your love
I need you to save me now
They got me and I'll never give up
But I need you to save me now
Well, they feed upon the poor
My head is banging on the floor
Yes it's over, yes it's over
They're lying
I don't wanna wait for your love
I need you to save me now
Save me now

[Verse 2]
I once had a girl
I gave her my world
But she played around, put me down
Still wanted the pearl
So I went to a priest
Yes, I fell to his feet
And he just raised me up
To cut me off at the knees

[Pre-Chorus]
I don't wanna wake up alone
I need you to hear me now
I don't wanna do it alone
I need you here with me now

[Chorus]
I don't wanna wait for your love
I need you to save me now
They got me and I'll never give up
But I need you to save me now
'cause the priest and the law
Truth is pounding at the door
Yes it’s over, yes it’s over
They’re dying
I don't wanna wait for your love
I need you to save me now
Save me now

[Pre-Chorus]
I don't wanna wake up alone
I need you to hear me now
I don’t wanna do it alone
I need you here with me now

[Chorus]
I don’t wanna wait for your love
I need you to save me now
They got me and I'll never give up
But I need you to save me now
Well, they feed upon the poor
My head is banging on the floor
Yes it's over, yes it's over
They're lying
I don't wanna wait for your love
I need you to save me now
Save me now

Billy Idol

Billy Idol is an English rock musician, songwriter and actor. Born in Stanmore, Middlesex, Idol first achieved fame in the punk rock era as a member of the band Generation X. Unlike other British punk rock artists of his era, Idol was inspired by The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

A series of music videos for songs such as “Dancing With Myself”, “White Wedding”, “Rebel Yell” and “Eyes Without a Face” made him one of the first MTV stars. Idol continues to tour with guitarist Steve Stevens.

Idol’s 1987 release, “Mony Mony” reached #1 on the US top 40 charts; his songs to chart in the top 10 include: White Wedding, Eyes Without a Face, To Be a Lover and Cradle of Love.
