[Intro]
I can't make you love me

[Verse 1]
Turn down the lights, turn down the bed
Turn down these voices inside my head
Lay down with me and tell me no lies
Just hold me close and don't patronize
Don't patronize me

[Chorus]
'Cause I can't make you love me if you don't
You can't make your heart feel something that it won't
Here in the dark, in these final hours
I will lay down my heart 'til I feel the power
But you won't, no, you won't
'Cause I can't make you love me if you don't

[Verse 2]
I'll close my eyes then I won't see
The love you don't feel when you're holding me
Morning will come and I'll do what's right
Just give me 'til then to give up this fight
And I will give up this fight

[Chorus]
'Cause I can't make you love me if you don't
You can't make your heart feel something it won't
Here in the dark, in these final hours
I will lay down my heart 'til I feel the power
But you won't, no, you won't
'Cause I can't make you love me if you don't

[Bridge]
Just let me hold you baby one more time
And maybe tonight I can change your mind
And make you love me like you did before
Leave a feeling in your heart you can't ignore
I feel that baby we can make this right
If you just give me one more night
I think that we're worth it and I feel we deserve it
If you feel that we don't have a chance

[Chorus]
'Cause I can't make you love me if you don't
You can't make your heart feel something that it won't
Here in the dark, in these final hours
I will lay down my heart 'til I feel the power
But you won't, no, you won't
'Cause I can't make you love me if you don't

Boyz II Men

Boyz II Men is an R&B vocal quartet from Philadelphia who became the most successful pop group of the 1990s. They’re best known for their passionate ballads, including the number one hits “End of The Road,” “On Bended Knee,” and “I’ll Make Love To You.”

An early version of the group was founded by Nathan Morris in the mid 1980s while attending the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts, where he recruited students Wanya Morris, Shawn Stockman, and Michael McCary. Singer Marc Nelson was also an early member, but left the group before their big break.

The group—who took its name from New Edition’s song “Boys To Men”—was discovered in 1988 after auditioning for New Edition’s Michael Bivins backstage at a concert. Bivins signed the group to his management company and secured them a contract with Motown Records.
