[Verse 1]
Tell me do you remember when (Mmm)
You were talking to your best friend and she mentioned
There was someone, a gentleman (Mmm)
Who was trying his best to extend an invitation

[Pre-Chorus]
If you get to know me (Oh), baby, it'll be a really good thing
And baby, no strings (No), I know it seems like I'm coming off strong
I hope you don't mind (Ooh) spending time, just you and me
Just you and me, I know you will have a good time

[Chorus]
That somebody was me (Oh, girl)
I'm the one that called you up with the blocked ID for a week (Mmm)
See I was holding back my feelings, wasn't sure (Oh)
I wasn't sure how you would respond to me, it was me, girl

[Verse 2]
Girl, I bet you remember when (Mmm)
You went out with your girls clubbing and dancing, yeah
You glanced at a gentleman (Mmm)
I got your number from your girlfriends, they said you was wrong

[Pre-Chorus]
To know me (Woah), baby, it'll be a really good thing
Baby, no strings (Yeah), I know it seems like I'm coming off strong
I hope you don't mind (Yeah) spending time, just you and me
Just you and me, I know you will have a good time

[Chorus]
That somebody was me (The one that called you)
The one that called you (Yeah) up with the blocked ID for a week (Woah)
See I was holding back my feelings, wasn't sure, babe
I wasn't sure how you would respond to me (Wasn't sure), it was me, girl (It was me)
That somebody was me (It was me, baby)
I'm the one that called you up with the blocked ID for a week (Yeah, see, girl, I was)
See I was holding back my feelings, wasn't sure (See I was holding back, baby)
I wasn't sure how you would respond to me, it was me, girl (Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)

[Bridge]
Woah, oh, oh (Mmm)
Not ashamed to say it was me, baby
Not ashamed to say it was me (Mmm)
I'm not ashamed, they said

[Chorus]
That somebody was me (That somebody was me)
The one that called you up with the blocked ID for a week (The one that called you up with the blocked ID, yeah)
See I was holding back my feelings, wasn't sure, babe (I was holding back, baby, yeah, yeah)
I wasn't sure how you would respond to me (Oh), it was me, girl (It was me)
That somebody was me
I'm the one that called you up with the blocked ID for a week (With the blocked ID)
See I was holding back my feelings, wasn't sure (Said I was holding back)
I wasn't sure how you would respond to me, it was me, girl (Ooh, ooh)

[Outro]
That somebody was me
The one that called you up with the blocked ID for a week
(Not ashamed to say it was me)
It was me, girl
(Not ashamed to say it was me)
See I was holding back my feelings
I wasn't sure how you would respond to me
(La-da-da-da)
It was me, girl
Yeah, mmm, yeah
