[Verse 1]
Early in the morning, before the daylight
I hear the sound of thunder, coming through in the night
I lie awake and I wonder , where my life is going
Am I on a road leading nowhere, there's no way of knowing
Because I've seen the lightning
And I'm ready for the rain to fall
Now I'm standing on a mountain, looking into the sky
I see the clouds come rolling in, water fills my eyes
I don't know what's in the future, no one can say
Don't want to think about the past, I've got to live for today
Cause I've seen the lightning now
I need to find my own way, while I've still got time

[Chorus]
And I'm ready for the rain to fall
Because I've heard the thunder
And I'm ready for the rain to fall
I'm ready, ready for the rain
I've got to rise above it all
And get ready for the rain to fall

[Verse 2]
Did you ever know someone, who had lost their way
Built their own little kingdom, and just blew it all away
I'm not ashamed to admit it, that someone was me
I'm going to look to the future now, cause I've set myself free
And I've seen the lightning
I'm going to set myself free, while I've still got time

[Chorus][x2]
Get ready for the rain to fall
Because I've heard the thunder
And I'm ready for the rain to fall
I'm ready, ready for the rain
I've got to rise above it all
And get ready for the rain to fall, while I've still got time

Foreigner

The name of the band Foreigner was chosen because half of the original members were from England, and the other half from the U.S. The group had quite a few people join and leave, but one of the originals, Mick Jones, (not Mick Jagger) stayed the whole time. Foreigner celebrated their 40th anniversary in 2017, with Mick still there.
