[Verse 1: 2-D]
Is it resolution?
Or black and white flying balloons?
Floating off, too colourful
Or is it separation
You put it to your counting sand
Waiting for the world to start again?

[Chorus: 2-D]
Ticker tape
Ticker tape
Tick-tick-ticker tape

[Verse 2: 2-D]
Is this how you're feeling?
Falling with the world tonight
Cauterized and beautiful
Slide the light
Is this how you're healing?
Out there in the paradigm
Waiting for a cavalcade to come again

[Chorus: 2-D]
Ticker tape
Ticker tape
Tick-tick-ticker tape
Ticker tape

[Bridge: Carly Simon & 2-D]
Black light glints with colour
Sudden long and horizontal outlines the star
A sudden draft and quick chill
A single snowflake falls
And that is all
That is all
The world's face hidden under folding wing
Waiting for the world to start again
Waiting for the world to start again
Waiting for the world to start again
Waiting for the world... again

[Outro: Kali Uchis]
'Cause we're working through it
Working through your nightmare
Watch the worker bees
As they're working for it
Working through the night shift
And I'm working through it
Working through the nightmare
Watch the worker bees
As they're working for it
Working through the night shift
[2D]
Are you leaving for the rest of it?
Coming back to ghosts inside
Or is it just too late for that?
And I'm hoping for a little juice

Gorillaz

Gorillaz is a virtual band created by Damon Albarn of Britpop band Blur and Jamie Hewlett, co-creator of the comic book Tank Girl. The band is composed of four animated band Stuart “2D” Pot (vocals, keyboard), Murdoc Niccals (bass), Noodle (lead guitar and occasional vocals), and Russel Hobbs (drums and percussion). Murdoc was based on Keith Richards from a photo by David Bailey and 2D was based on a friend of Damon and Jamie’s.

The project began as an experiment and commentary on popular media. It was inspired by Hewlett and Albarn binge watching MTV when the two were housemates in London. Hewlett

If you watch MTV for too long, it’s a bit like hell – there’s nothing of substance there. So we got this idea for a cartoon band, something that would be a comment on that.
