[Intro]
One, two, three, four!

[Verse 1]
Well, I've got a fever, a non-believer, I'm in a state of grace
For I am the Caesar, I'm gonna seize the day (Ay, ay-ay)
Well, call of the banshee, hey hey, hey hey hey hey hey
As God as my witness, the infidels are gonna pay
Well, call the assassin, the orgasm, a spasm of love and hate
For what will divide us? The righteous and the meek (Ay, ay-ay)
Well, call of the wild, hey hey, hey hey hey hey hey
Well, death to the girl at the end of the serenade

[Chorus]
Vendetta, sweet vendetta
This Beretta of the night
This fire and the desire
Well, shots ringing out on the holy parasite

[Verse 2]
Well, I am a killjoy from Detroit, I drink from a well of rage
I feed off the weakness with all my love (Ah, ah-ah)
Well, call up the captain, hey hey, hey hey hey hey hey
Well, death to the lover that you were dreaming of
Well, this is a stand-off, a Molotov cocktail's on the house
You thought I was a write-off, you better think again (Ay, ay-ay)
Well, call the peacemaker, hey hey, hey hey hey hey hey
I'm gonna send you back to the place where it all began

[Chorus]
Vendetta, sweet vendetta
This Beretta of the night
This fire and the desire
Well, shots ringing out on the holy parasite

[Bridge]
Well, now the caretaker's the undertaker
So I'm gonna go out and get a peacemaker
This is a Neo Saint Valentine's massacre
Well, call up the Gaza, hey hey, hey hey hey hey hey
Well, death to the ones at the end of the serenade
Well, death to the ones at the end of the serenade
Well, death to the ones at the end of the serenade

[Outro]
Well, death to the ones at the end of the serenade

Green Day

Formed in East Bay, California in 1986 and still going strong today, Green Day is one of the biggest punk rock acts in the world. Along with other punk bands in California such as The Offspring, Sublime, Bad Religion and Rancid, they have been credited with popularizing and reviving mainstream interest in punk rock in the U.S. in the 90s.

First starting in 1986 as Sweet Children, longtime friends Billie Joe Armstrong (guitar and lead vocalist) and Mike Dirnt (bass guitar) teamed up with John Kiffmeyer to produce their debut EP 1,000 Hours. They eventually dropped the name Sweet Children and called themselves Green Day due to the band members' fondness for cannabis (it even inspired a song featured on their first album) and for their second studio album Kerplunk they replaced Kiffmeyer with German-born drummer Tré Cool, who had been drumming since the age of 12 in a punk band, The Lookouts.

It was their 1994 record Dookie that sent the band to stardom and gave them mainstream success. Dookie, alongside their following albums Insomniac (1995) and Nimrod (1997) were certified double platinum. Eventually, the band started to fall in popularity with their 2000 record Warning which only reached gold.
