What a crew we made up, there was Faustus
Burnt out from playing too many bars on the Jersey Shore
And Sammy, almost bald
From ironing her hair too much back in '64
And me, Phazon, out of phase
Or at least my temporary name for the day
Oh, blown away and screaming
All blown away and screaming
All blown away and screaming
Through December

We crossed state lines, we was burning
Although the cold could freeze your hand to the steel of a wheel
Miami, just a cold hearted word
From a warm smiling man on a sign in a field
We laughed just to take up time
Hmm, the drive was starting to drag
As we went screaming
As we went screaming
As we went screaming
Through December

"Quasar! Quasar!" were the first words I heard from Faustus all day
And giggling he apologized and then returned to flicking his blade...

I sighed bleary-eyed
And tried to remember the way
As we went screaming

A year does go by, what a difference
Twelve months can make when you're living a hundred years in one
Sammy, she went home
And now she's living in a room with a gun
Faustus ate glass for an appetizer
And bled all over his synthesizer
As he went screaming
As he went screaming
As he went screaming
Through December

Hall & Oates

Hall & Oates released the first of their 18 albums in 1972 on Atlantic Records. They would go on to sell 13 million albums and 6 million singles primarily during the 70’s and 80’s when they recorded their most prolific and profound music. They blended rock, jazz, soul, and pop create a genre they titled rock and soul.

While their technical musicianship, innovative songwriting styles, and popular live performances were praised, they also had a fruitful partnership with their manager Tommy Mottola, who was helped Hall & Oates break into music videos before they were popular and made profitable financial deals by helping them get on the ground level of and corporate sponsorship of tours. Hall & Oates were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
