People talkin' tryin' to break us up why won't they let me be
Sticks and stones may break my bones but words don't bother me
I've been abused in my heart
I've been abused I've been abused in my heart

People talkin' tryin' to break us up they know I love you so
I don't care what the people may say I'll never never let you go
I've been abused in my heart
I've been abused yeah I've been abused in my heart

Oh people talkin' tryin' to break us up scandlizin' my name
Say anything to make me feel bad yes anything to make me shame
I've been abused in my heart
I've been abused yeah I've been abused in my heart
I've been abused I've been abused I said I've been abused

Honey you make me feel bad and you make me feel so bad
But I'm gonna love you bay in the middle of the night make you feel alright
Just stick with ol' Jerry Lee baby you know what I mean
Honey you know I won't treat you wrong, brrr oh, yeah brrr, come on baby

Jerry Lee Lewis

Jerry Lee Lewis was a leading figure in the popularization of rock & roll during the 1950s. He was first signed to Sun Records in 1956 where he was labelmates with Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, and other early rock artists. Of those musicians, however, he was the only piano player and combined with his heavy-handed playing style, sexually suggestive lyrics, and provocative stage antics he came to epitomize the rebelliousness of the genre.

He rose to international fame for his 1957 versions of the songs “Great Balls of Fire” and “Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On.”

Lewis' popularity rapidly tumbled, however, when in 1958, when at the age of 22, he married his 13-year-old cousin. Though this scandal continued to tarnish his image, Lewis never retired from music. As of October 2015, he continues to perform live.
