[Verse 1]
I can't give you anything but love
But you don't want none of the above
And I try
To give you everything I got
But you want more than I can give, and no I'm not

You played with my heart, babe
You tear my world apart

[Chorus]
Why you gotta be like that?
Why you gotta be like that?
Why you gotta be like that?
It's alright

Why you gotta be like that?
Why you gotta be like that?
Why you gotta be like that?
It's alright (No it ain't)

[Verse 2]
She put the old man down in his place
Hot dog, kickin' down dirty man
Oh what a disgrace now

And I try
To give you everything I got
But you want more than I can give, and no I'm not

You played with my heart, babe
You tear my world apart

[Chorus]
Why you gotta be like that?
Why you gotta be like that?
Why you gotta be like that?
It's alright

Why you gotta be like that?
Why you gotta be like that?
Why you gotta be like that?
It's alright

Why you gotta be like that?
Why you gotta be like that?
Why you gotta be like that?
It's alright
