[Chorus: Katy Perry]
Yeah, I'm thankful
Scratch that, baby, I'm grateful
Gotta say it's really been a while
But now I got back that smile (Smile)
I'm so thankful
Scratch that, baby, I'm grateful
Now you see me shine from a mile
Finally got back that smile (Smile)

[Verse 1: Katy Perry]
Every day, Groundhog Day
Goin' through motions felt so fake
Not myself, not my best
Felt like I failed the test

[Pre-Chorus: Katy Perry]
But every tear has been a lesson
Rejection can be God's protection
Long hard road to get that redemption
But no shortcuts to a blessin'

[Chorus: Katy Perry]
Yeah, I'm thankful
Scratch that, baby, I'm grateful
Gotta say it's really been a while
But now I got back that smile (Smile)
I'm so thankful
Scratch that, baby, I'm grateful
Now you see me shine from a mile
Finally got back that smile (Smile)

[Verse 2: Katy Perry]
I'm 2.0, remodeled
Used to be dull, now I sparkle
Had a piece of humble pie
That ego check saved my life

[Pre-Chorus: Katy Perry]
Now I got a smile like Lionel Richie
Big and bright, need shades just to see me
Tryna stay alive just like I'm the Bee Gees (Oh, woah)
A Mona Lisa masterpiece

[Chorus: Katy Perry & Diddy]
Yeah, I'm thankful
Scratch that, baby, I'm grateful
Gotta say it's really been a while
But now I got back that smile (C'mon, smile)
I'm so thankful
Scratch that, baby, I'm grateful (So thankful)
Now you see me shine from a mile
Finally got back that smile (Smile)
I thought I told you that we won't stop

[Verse 3: Diddy & Katy Perry]
I gotta crack a smile, even laugh a while (That's right)
Been through a lot, but I ain't backin' down (Let's go)
See, I came in the game with the flashy style (Woo)
Now I'm looking at the wealth that I'm passin' down
I'ma seen the light, it's a pleasing sight
Girl, we even manifestin' when we sleep at night (Right)
Fell down couple times, now we reachin' heights (Ha)
Yeah, to be precise, I'ma lead the fight (Woo, let's go)
Been appointed, light on your life so anointing
Catch me two-steppin', nigga, stressin' is pointless
No need to worry 'cause the truth is here
And I'm smiling, bitch, with my new veneers, yeah (Oh no no no no)

[Chorus: Katy Perry & Diddy]
Ooh I'm thankful (Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
Scratch that, baby, I'm grateful (Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
Gotta say it's really been a while
But now I got back that smile (Come on, let me see that smile, smile)
I'm so thankful
Scratch that, baby, I'm grateful (Yo, check this out)
Now you see me shine from a mile (Why don't you smile?)
Finally got back that smile (Smile, and I smile)

[Outro: Katy Perry & Diddy]
I'm so (And we can smile together)
Grateful (You like that, yeah)
'Cause I finally, 'cause I finally (I like that too, yeah, come on)
Oh oh (Take that)
I'm so (Yeah)
Grateful (I see you smilin', let's go)
'Cause I finally, 'cause I finally (Katy Perry)
Oh oh (Diddy, yeah)

Katy Perry

Katheryn Elizabeth “Katy” Hudson (born October 25, 1984), known by her stage name Katy Perry, is an American singer, songwriter, businesswoman, philanthropist, and actress. She was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California. Having had very little exposure to mainstream pop music in her childhood, she pursued a career in gospel music as a teen and released her debut self-titled studio album in 2001. She also recorded a second solo album in 2005, (A) Katy Perry, which was scrapped.

Afterwards, Perry (her mother’s maiden name, taken to avert confusion with Kate Hudson) reinvented herself as a party girl pop star, breaking out with 2008’s One of the Boys and the #1 hits “I Kissed a Girl” and “Hot n Cold”.

Follow-up Teenage Dream (2010) equalled Michael Jackson’s record of five chart-toppers on the same album, and made Perry even more ubiquotous in the pop landscape. Following her marriage and eventual divorce from British comedian Russell Brand, she released an updated version, Teenage The Complete Confection and concert film Katy Part of Me in 2012. She released her fourth album, Prism, in 2013, along with some standalone singles, such as “Rise”.
