Surrender, surrender
Surrender, surrender, ooh!

Ten years ago today
Somebody came and took love away
Time has come to bring it back
Let's come together and form a pact
Let the moonlight show the way
As we rescue love today
You're nervous and excited
At times you're really frightened
But just remember all the plans we made

Then change the guard, every minute on the hour
There's no time to wait or hesitate
Through the halls and the tunnel of illusion
Use the force to help lead the way
Your second thoughts could be the ones that deceive you
Follow the plan and do go astray, no
In the end, we must win them over
On command, we'll stand up and say, now

Surrender, you better surrender, you gotta
Surrender, you better surrender, you gotta
(Ooh!)

Surrender, surrender
(You have better)
We got you surrounded
(You have better)
Surrender, surrender, ooh!

Time to make the final move
We've got a lot, we have to prove
Last chance is close at hand
Divided we fall, united we stand
Let the moonlight show the way
As we rescue love today
Though the sound that you're hearing
A strange appearing
Keep moving on to reach a higher pain

Your body shakes and your heart is beating faster
Shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it
Through the halls and the tunnel of illusion
Your second thoughts could be the ones that deceive you
Follow the plan and do go astray, no
In the end, we must win them over
On command, we'll stand up and say, now

Surrender, you better surrender, you gotta
We got you surrounded
Surrender, you better surrender, you gotta
(Ooh!)

(Surrender, surrender, ooh!)
You know you better surrender
(Surrender, surrender, ooh!)
'Cause we came here to rescue love

(Surrender, surrender)
Love is what we want
And love is what we need
We got you surrounded
(Surrender, surrender, ooh!)
You got to give it up
And surrender, oh...

Surrender, you better surrender, you gotta
(You have better surrender)
We got you surrounded
Surrender, you better surrender, you gotta
(Ooh!)
(You have better)

(Surrender, surrender)
'Cause love is what we want
(You have better)
And love is what we need
We got you surrounded
(Surrender, surrender, ooh!)
You got to give it up
(You have better)
And surrender, oh...

Kool & the Gang

Kool & the Gang is an American jazz, R&B, soul, funk, and disco group from Jersey City. They were originally named the Jazziacs when they formed the group in 1964.

They went through several musical phases during their recording career, starting out with a purist jazz sound, then funk and R&B, progressing to a smooth pop-funk ensemble, and in the post-millennium creating music with a modern, electro-pop sound.

The group was becoming prominent in the music industry in the 1970s with hits such as “Holly Wood Swinging”, “Jungle Boogie” and “Summer Madness”. However they cemented their legendary status after the addition of lead vocalist James “J.T.” Taylor. With his help they went on to create classic hits such as “Ladies Night”, “Celebration”, “Get Down On It”, “Cherish” and countless others.
