Ooh-ooh-ooh, la-la-la-la-la
La, la, la, la

There you go once again
You played it out until the end
You're heading for the open door
Even though you found what you were looking for

Didn’t anyone ever tell you
Didn't they tell you, baby
Didn't anyone ever show you
Oh, didn’t they show you, girl
Didn't anyone ever hold you
The way I do
I just can't let go, oh, no

Never give up on a good thing
When somebody makes your heart sing, oh, girl
Never give up on a good thing
Never give up, never give up, never give up
When somebody makes your heart sing, yeah

Heaven knows the hardest part
Is letting go of your heart
Trust in me like I trust in you
There won't be anything, darling
That we can't do

Didn't anyone ever tell you
Didn't they tell you, girl
Didn't anyone ever show you
Oh, didn’t they show you, girl
Didn’t anyone ever hold you
The way I do
I just can't let go
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, yeah

Never give up on a good thing
When somebody makes your heart sing, oh, girl
Never give up on a good thing
Never ever give up on a good thing, girl
When somebody makes your heart sing
When they make your heart sing

Oh, girl, you have got to be crazy
To walk away from a love so right, so right
Stop and think this time
Before it’s too late to change your mind
You've got to hold on, hold on
To your love, your love, girl, yeah

Never give up on a good thing
When somebody makes your heart sing, oh, girl
Never give up on a good thing
You've got to hold on, hold on, yeah
When somebody makes your heart sing
When they make your heart sing, yeah

Never give up on a good thing
Never give up, never give up
When somebody makes your heart sing, yeah
Never give up on a good thing
Never ever give up on a god thing, baby, yeah
When somebody makes your heart sing
When somebody makes your heart
Makes your heart sing, yeah

Never give up on a good thing
When somebody makes your heart sing
Say never ever give up...

Kool & the Gang

Kool & the Gang is an American jazz, R&B, soul, funk, and disco group from Jersey City. They were originally named the Jazziacs when they formed the group in 1964.

They went through several musical phases during their recording career, starting out with a purist jazz sound, then funk and R&B, progressing to a smooth pop-funk ensemble, and in the post-millennium creating music with a modern, electro-pop sound.

The group was becoming prominent in the music industry in the 1970s with hits such as “Holly Wood Swinging”, “Jungle Boogie” and “Summer Madness”. However they cemented their legendary status after the addition of lead vocalist James “J.T.” Taylor. With his help they went on to create classic hits such as “Ladies Night”, “Celebration”, “Get Down On It”, “Cherish” and countless others.
