Released: October 16, 2015
It's the "Love Me Like You" interview. With...
JESY NELSON: Jesy!
JADE THIRLWALL: Jade!
LEIGH-ANNE PINNOCK: Leigh-Anne!
PERRIE EDWARDS: Perrie!
PE: Okay, Jesminda, stop looking at the questions!
What do the other girls bring to the recording process? Now, don't talk about me too much, Jesy, I know -
JN: She, that girl - Ayy! I'm joking. Well, obviously their incredible voices. I feel like as the years have gone on, we've all stepped it up vocally, and I feel like we've all grown in confidence with our voices. And I think that's what really stands out on this album, how much you can really identify everyone, you know? Individually.
JN: So, Jade, what was the highlight of making Get Weird for you?
JT: Ooh! The highlight of making Get Weird for me was... I think, the four of us girls getting closer as a band.
JN: Aww.
JT: 'Cause we had many trials and tribulations along the way..
JN: Lovely.
JT: Quite a bit tough at some places, but we stuck together and we didn't give up, and now we have the best album yet, because.
JN: Ohh, very nice!
JT: So, Leigh-Anne. What song on the album makes you most happy? What makes you wanna jump about -
L-NP: The album... it has to be "Weird People."
JT: Yeah!
L-NP: I think that song is so... fun, so happy, and it's literally just about being yourself, being weird, because if you were normal, like, no one's really normal -
JT: Borin'.
L-NP: And it's - boring, exactly, right? It's all about being weird, sort of, expressing yourself, and not giving a... poo about anybody that tells you otherwise.
JT: So what's your favorite song otherwise?
L-NP: Okay, my favorite song on the album, I actually love every song, but I'm gonna say probably "I Love You." I don't know why I love it so much, it just makes me feel so proud when I hear us all sing that I think, our vocals on it are so lovely and so amazing, and it just, yeah. I just feel very proud when I hear it [?].
JT: Aww.
L-NP: Hi, Perrie!
PE: 'I, love!
L-NP: So, what's your favorite song and why?
PE: My favorite song on the album is "Lightning."
L-NP: Eee, good one!
PE: It is such a tune! I just feel empowered, I feel strong, I feel fierce!
L-NP: Yeah.
PERRIE: Yes, it's fantastic.
L-NP: It's almost "DNA," it's -
PE: It is! It is just like "DNA" and all that fierceness, sister.
L-NP: Yes. Okay, what is your most meaningful song, would you say, and why?
PE: I think "Grown" has a good meaning to it, 'cause I was always that girl in school who could never get the guy, and he'd always find someone of my mates, and I'd be invisible. But yeah, I think, yeah, I love "Grown" because, uh, I love that when you get a bit older and you get more confident, you just feel good in yourself.
L-NP: Definitely.
PE: I just get so excited talking about Get Weird, darling!
