[Chorus 1: Boyz II Men]
I won't be afraid
I'll be alright if you help me
I know you're looking down from heaven
And I won't let you down
I'll be everything you taught me
And all that I know is I'll wait
Patiently to see you in heaven

[Verse 1: Boyz II Men]
Sorry I never told you
All I wanted to say
And now it's too late to hold you
'Cause you've flown away
So far away

[Verse 2: Mariah Carey & (Boyz II Men)]
Never had I imagined
Living without your smile (Living without your smile)
Feeling and knowing you hear me
It keeps me alive
Alive

[Chorus 1: (Mariah Carey) & Boyz II Men]
(And I know you're shining down on me from heaven)
I won't be afraid
I'll be alright if you help me
(Like so many friends we've lost along the way)
I know you're looking down from heaven
(And I know eventually we'll be together)
And I won't let you down
I'll be everything you taught me
(One sweet day)
And all that I know is I'll wait
Patiently to see you in heaven
(One sweet day)

[Verse 3: Boyz II Men & (Mariah Carey)]
Darling I never showed you
Assumed you'd always be there (Always, always, no)
I took your presence for granted
But I always cared (But I always cared)
And I miss the love we shared

[Chorus 2: Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men]
And I know you're shining down on me from heaven
Like so many friends we've lost along the way (Lost along the way)
And I know eventually we'll be together
One sweet day

[Bridge: Boyz II Men & (Mariah Carey), Both]
Although the sun will never shine the same
I'll always look to a brighter day (Yeah, yeah)
Lord, I know when I lay me down to sleep
You will always listen as I pray

[Chorus 2: All]
And I know you're shining down on me from heaven
Like so many friends we've lost along the way
And I know eventually we'll be together
One sweet day
And I know you're shining down on me from heaven
Like so many friends we've lost along the way
And I know eventually we'll be together
One sweet day

[Outro: All]
Sorry I never told you (Ooh)
All I wanted to say

Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey (born March 27, 1970) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, actress, and philanthropist.

Under the guidance of Columbia Records executive Tommy Mottola, Carey released her self-titled debut studio album Mariah Carey in 1990; it went multi-platinum and spawned four consecutive number one singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Following her marriage to Mottola in 1993 and success with hit records “Emotions” (1991), “Music Box” (1993), and “Merry Christmas” (1994), Carey was established as Columbia’s highest-selling act. Daydream (1995) made music history when its second single “One Sweet Day”, a duet with Boyz II Men, spent a record sixteen weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100, and remains the longest-running number-one song in U.S. chart history, along with Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito.” During the recording of the album, Carey began to deviate from her R&B and pop beginnings and slowly traversed into hip hop. This musical change became evident with the release of Butterfly (1997), at which time Carey had separated from Mottola.
