[Chorus 1]
So far, so far
You're slipping away, away
You're slipping away from the life and the love we made
Baby, I'm so afraid
So far, so far, so far
You're slipping away, away
You're slipping right out of my grasp
When you're fading fast it seems
You know you're slipping away from me

[Verse 1]
I keep on reaching and I
I keep on trying
But you never even hold me
And it seems like you don't know me, baby
I keep on yearning and I
I guess I'm learning
That it's just a losing fight
'Cause there's no passion in your eyes

[Chorus 1]
So far, so far
You're slipping away, away
Slipping away from the life and the love we made
Baby, I'm so afraid
So far, so far, so far
You're slipping away, away
Slipping right out of my grasp
When you're fading fast it seems
You know you're slipping away from me

[Verse 2]
I keep denying that our
Our love is dying
But it's all a big charade
And it's a fruitless game to play
I can't remember when you
You last were tender
And it's always touch and go
The silence chills me to the bone

[Chorus 1]
So far, so far
You're slipping away, away
You're slipping away from the life and the love we made
Baby, I'm so afraid
So far, so far, so far
You're slipping away, away
Slipping right out of my grasp
When you're fading fast it seems
When you're slipping away from me
Away, away, away, away, yeah
Hey, yeah

[Post-Chorus]
Further, further (Further, further)
Ooh, yeah
You're so far

[Bridge]
Time after time I reach for you
Try and I try, but you're so aloof
Where is the boy that you used to be?
Baby, you're slipping away from me (You're so far)
Time after time I reach for you
Try and I try, but you're so aloof (Baby, baby, baby)
Where is the boy that you used to be?
Baby, you're slipping away from me (You're so far)

[Chorus 2]
So far, so far
You're slipping away, away
Slipping away from what we had
Truly, I just don't understand (You're so far)
So far, so far, so far
You're slipping away, away
You're slipping right out of my grasp
When you're fading so fast it seems
You know you're slipping away

[Bridge]
Time after time I reach for you
Try and I try, but you're so aloof
Where is the boy that you used to be?
Baby, you're slipping away from me

[Outro]
Time after time I reach for you (So far, so far)
Try and I try, but you're so aloof (Yeah)
Where is the boy that you used to be?
Baby, you're slipping away from me (Baby, baby, baby)
Time after time I reach for you (So far)
Try and I try but you're so aloof
Where is the boy that you used to be?
Baby, you're slipping away from me (Yeah, yeah)
Time after time I reach for you (So far, so far)
Try and I try but you're so aloof (So far)
Where is the boy that you used to be?
Baby, you're slipping away from me
Time after time I reach for you
Try and I try, but you're so aloof

Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey (born March 27, 1970) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, actress, and philanthropist.

Under the guidance of Columbia Records executive Tommy Mottola, Carey released her self-titled debut studio album Mariah Carey in 1990; it went multi-platinum and spawned four consecutive number one singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Following her marriage to Mottola in 1993 and success with hit records “Emotions” (1991), “Music Box” (1993), and “Merry Christmas” (1994), Carey was established as Columbia’s highest-selling act. Daydream (1995) made music history when its second single “One Sweet Day”, a duet with Boyz II Men, spent a record sixteen weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100, and remains the longest-running number-one song in U.S. chart history, along with Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito.” During the recording of the album, Carey began to deviate from her R&B and pop beginnings and slowly traversed into hip hop. This musical change became evident with the release of Butterfly (1997), at which time Carey had separated from Mottola.
