[Verse 1]
I need a lover to give me
The kind of love that'll last always
I need somebody uplifting
To take me away, oh, baby
I needs a lover who knows me
Who understands how I feel inside
Someone to comfort and hold me
Through the long lonely nights till the dawn
Why don't you take me away?

[Chorus]
Dreamlover, come rescue me
Take me up, take me down
Take me anywhere you want to, baby, now
I need you so desperately
Won't you please come around?
'Cause I wanna share forever with you, babe

[Post-Chorus]
Yeah, with you, baby, baby, baby, babe
Whoa, with you, babe
With you, baby, baby, baby, now

[Verse 2]
I don't want another pretender
To disillusion me one more time
Whispering words of forever
Playing with my mind, oh no, no
I need someone to hold on to
The kind of love that won't fly away
I just wasn't someone to belong to
Every day of my life always
So come and take me away

[Chorus]
Dreamlover, come rescue me
Take me up, take me down
Take me anywhere you want to, baby, now
I need you so desperately
Won't you please come around?
'Cause I wanna share forever with you, baby

[Post-Chorus]
Yeah, whoa, take me up
Take me up, take me up
Whoa, whoa, whoa, hey

[Interlude]
Dreamlover, dreamlover, dreamlover
Dreamlover, dreamlover, dreamlover
Dreamlover, dreamlover

[Bridge]
Won't you come and take me away?
Whoa, ooh
Somebody come and take me away-ay
Take me, take me, take me
Come and take me, take me away, away
Come and take me, take me, baby, come and take me
Baby, won't you take me away
Need your love, need you, babe
Need you now, oh, oh, oh
Oh yeah, oh, oh, oh
Why don't you take me, take me, baby take me?
Baby, won't you take me away, away?
Come on and take me, take me
Won't you come and take me
Baby, won't you take me away-ay, ooh?
Won't you come on out?
Won't you come on now?
Won't you come on, baby?
Won't you come on now?
Won't you come on, baby, baby, baby, baby?
Oh, baby, oh

[Interlude]
Dreamlover, dreamlover, dreamlover
Dreamlover, dreamlover, dreamlover
Dreamlover, dreamlover

[Chorus]
Dreamlover, come rescue me
Take me up, take me down
Take me anywhere you want to, baby, now
I need you so desperately
Won't you please come around?
'Cause I wanna share forever with you, babe
Dreamlover, come rescue me
Take me up, take me down
Take me anywhere you want to, baby, now
I need you so desperately
Won't you please come around?
'Cause I wanna share forever with you, babe

[Post-Chorus]
Come on, babe, whoa, oh yeah, yeah
Oh yeah, oh yeah, won't you come on, baby?
Ooh, won't you take me away?
Oh yeah
Come on, baby, come and take me away
Baby, come and take me away
Whoa, baby, come and take me away
Baby, come and take me away, oh, oh, whoa

[Outro]
Dreamlover, dreamlover
Dreamlover, dreamlover

Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey (born March 27, 1970) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, actress, and philanthropist.

Under the guidance of Columbia Records executive Tommy Mottola, Carey released her self-titled debut studio album Mariah Carey in 1990; it went multi-platinum and spawned four consecutive number one singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Following her marriage to Mottola in 1993 and success with hit records “Emotions” (1991), “Music Box” (1993), and “Merry Christmas” (1994), Carey was established as Columbia’s highest-selling act. Daydream (1995) made music history when its second single “One Sweet Day”, a duet with Boyz II Men, spent a record sixteen weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100, and remains the longest-running number-one song in U.S. chart history, along with Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito.” During the recording of the album, Carey began to deviate from her R&B and pop beginnings and slowly traversed into hip hop. This musical change became evident with the release of Butterfly (1997), at which time Carey had separated from Mottola.
