[Intro: Mariah Carey & Prodigy]
Infamous, it don't stop (Mm-ohh)
Yeah, yeah, infamous, knock 'em out the box, yo (Oh-oh)
I got you stuck off the realness (Oh, oh, oh)
Infamous, knock 'em out the box (Oh, oh, oh)
I got you stuck off the realness (Yeah, ooh)

[Verse 1: Mariah Carey]
It wasn't raining yet (Yet), but it was definitely (It was definitely)
A little misty on that warm November night
And my heart was pounding (Pounding), my inner voice resounding (Come on)
Begging me to turn away, but I just had to see your face to feel alive

[Pre-Chorus: Mariah Carey]
And then you casually walked in the room (In the room)
And I was twisted in the web of my desire (And I was twisted)
My apprehension blew away, I only wanted you
To taste my sadness as you kissed me in the dark

[Chorus: Mariah Carey]
Every time I feel the need
I envision you caressing me
And go back in time to relive the splendor of you and I
On the rooftop that rainy night

[Verse 2: Mariah Carey]
And so we finished the Moet and started feeling liberated
And I surrendered as you took me in your arms (You took me in your arms)
I was so caught in the moment, couldn't bear to let you go yet
So I threw caution to the wind and started listening to my longing heart

[Pre-Chorus: Mariah Carey]
And then you softly pressed your lips to mine
And feelings surfaced I'd suppressed for such a long, long time (And I was lifted)
And for a while I forgot the sorrow and pain
And melted with you as we stood there in the rain

[Chorus: Mariah Carey]
Every time I feel the need
I envision you (Envision you) caressing me (Caressing me)
And go back in time to relive the splendor of you and I
On the rooftop that rainy night

[Bridge: Mariah Carey & Prodigy]
Last night (Last night) I dreamed that I (Dreamed that I)
Whispered the words "I love you" (That I love you, boy)
And touched you so very subtly
As we were kissing goodbye (Infamous rocks the box)

[Verse 3: Prodigy & Havoc]
I got you stuck off the realness
Feel this pourin' down on your buildings
The rain about to fall, I score up in the project hall
Third floor, grab a taste on the staircase
As we embrace, strictly lye without the raw base
Me and my ol' dog blowin' out the smokes fog
But overall, you the one that's like my pistol, I see it crystal
Keep you on my side, you official (Yo, yo, yo, yo)

[Verse 4: Havoc, Big Noyd & Mariah Carey]
Ain't it ill how we click, boo? Me and you
Got me stuck off the realness, just me and you
Up on the roofpiece, Pebble Beach
Talk to me anytime, even when I'm with my peeps
Roll a L while you smell like the perfume Chanel
Push big Jeeps, rap it, Noyd, simply hit me
We can do it on a rooftop, do it 'til we both drop
M-O-B-B with Mariah sounds so hot (Every time)

[Chorus: Mariah Carey]
Every time (Every time) I feel the need
I envision you (Envision you) caressing me (Caressing me)
And go back in time (Oh) to relive the splendor of you and I (It was oh, so sweet, you and I)
On the rooftop that rainy night (On that rainy night)
Every time I feel the need (Last night I had a dream, I just dreamed)
I envision you caressing me (It was actually quite symbolic)
And go back in time (As I whispered) to relive the splendor of you and I (That I loved you, very subtly)
On the rooftop that rainy night

Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey (born March 27, 1970) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, actress, and philanthropist.

Under the guidance of Columbia Records executive Tommy Mottola, Carey released her self-titled debut studio album Mariah Carey in 1990; it went multi-platinum and spawned four consecutive number one singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Following her marriage to Mottola in 1993 and success with hit records “Emotions” (1991), “Music Box” (1993), and “Merry Christmas” (1994), Carey was established as Columbia’s highest-selling act. Daydream (1995) made music history when its second single “One Sweet Day”, a duet with Boyz II Men, spent a record sixteen weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100, and remains the longest-running number-one song in U.S. chart history, along with Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito.” During the recording of the album, Carey began to deviate from her R&B and pop beginnings and slowly traversed into hip hop. This musical change became evident with the release of Butterfly (1997), at which time Carey had separated from Mottola.
