[Intro- Discours de Kofi Annan]
Climate change is having a real impact
On the lives of individuals
And communities around the world
We must do something about it
In December in Copenhagen
Our leaders will have an opportunity
To come up with a robust post-climate agreement
That is viable and will help make this planet a better place

[Verse 1- Serena Ryder]
Down at the river bed
The earth is cracked and dry instead
Farms are failing, cities baking
Steam in 45 degrees

[Hook- Amadou & Mariam, Vincent Perez, Will Lee, The All-American Rejects, & Marion Cotillard]
The time has come
To take a stand
It's for the Earth
It's for our land
The time has come
A fact's a fact
The heat is on
No turning back

[Post-Hook- Serena Ryder]
How can we dance when our earth is turning
How do we sleep while our beds are burning

[Marion Cotillard (Theophilus London)]
How can we dance when our earth is turning (How can we dance, how can we dance)

[Eric Serra]
How do we sleep while our beds are burning

[Hook- Guillaume Canet & Youssou N'Dour]
The time has come
To take a stand
It's for the earth
It's for our land

[Verse 2- Hawksley Workman]
Heaven hopes we?ll find a cure
From Bejing west to Timbuktu

[Scorpions]
The global village lives and breathes
In 45 degrees

[Hook- Ed Robertson, Mélanie Laurent, Jamie Burke, & Hawksley Workman]
The time has come
To take a stand
It's for the Earth
It's for our land
The time has come
A fact's a fact
The heat is on
No turning back

[Duran Duran Milla Jovovich, & Mélanie Laurent]
How can we dance when our earth is turning
How do we sleep while our beds are burning
How can we dance when our earth is turning
How do we sleep while our beds are burning

[Hook- Dan Black]
The time has come
To take a stand
It's for the Earth
It's for our land
The time has come
A fact's a fact
The heat is on
No turning back

[Post-Hook]
How can we dance when our earth is turning
How do we sleep while our beds are burning
How can we dance when our earth is turning
How do we sleep while our beds are burning

[Outro- Desmond Tutu]
I support the Campaign For Climate Justice
And I'm pleased to become a climate ally
This is your campaign

Midnight Oil

Midnight Oil is an Australian rock ‘n’ roll band that was formed in 1976, dissolving in 2002 once the lead singer quit to pursue a career in politics, and reforming in 2016 prior to undertaking a major world tour in 2017. It is renowned (in Australia at least) for its politically fueled and pro-environmental songs.

The band comprises Rob Hirst on the drums, other percussion and backing vocals, Jim Moginie on guitar and keyboard, Bones Hillman on bass guitar and backing vocals, Martin Rotsey on lead guitar, and of course Peter Garrett, the charismatic lead singer turned Minister for the Environment turned back into singing. Previous band members include earlier bass players Peter Gifford and, before him, Andrew James. Hirst and Moginie have been the band’s principal song writers.

The band started out as a small cover-playing band called Farm, which Rob Hirst, Jim Moginie and Martin Rotsey formed in 1972-1976. Peter Garrett joined when he saw an advert for a new band member in early 1973.
