[Intro]
You say, you're identical to none
But you're identical to some
Who wants to be a some?
Not me

[Verse 1]
I am not a one-trick pony
I am not a one-trick pony
I really feel no one can own me
I really feel nothing can hold me

[Pre-Chorus]
Nobody can control me
Nobody can conform me
Nobody can disown me
Nobody can ignore me

[Chorus]
So slow down
One-trick pony

[Verse 2]
I am not a one-trick pony
I am not a one-trick pony
For you I will not dance
And for you I will not prance

[Pre-Chorus]
And where I was last
I'll never be at
And after that
I've already passed

[Chorus]
Slow down
(Get on it girl, get on it girl)
(It's got a price tag on it)
And hear this sound
(Get on it girl, get on it girl)
(It's what you really wanted)
One-trick pony

[Bridge]
Yeah, you do it for a price
I can see it in your eyes
See that role was never mine
I don't want to stand in line
See how that one-trick story goes
If she weren't on top you'd never know
Cause a one-trick pony steals the show
You're just a pony

[Chorus]
So back down
(Get on it girl, get on it girl)
(It's got a price tag on it)
To the ground
(Get on it girl, get on it girl)
(It's got a price tag on it)
And chill out
(Get on it girl, get on it girl)

[Break]
Girl, you better shape up
Girl, you better shape up
Yeah the ride is so, so, so, so, so fast
Yeah, you better shape up
Yeah, just keep your chin up
No half ass... no half ass

(She's coming undone)
(She's coming undone)

[Outro]
One-trick pony
Just ride ride ride
Just ride ride ride
Ride ride ride

Nelly Kim Furtado (born December 2, 1978) is a Portuguese-Canadian singer and songwriter. The songstress is well-known for hits such as “I’m Like a Bird”, “Turn Off the Light”, and “Promiscuous”.

She began her career in 1996 contributing vocals to Plains of Fascination’s “Walkin' 4 The Streets” and forming Nelstar. After leaving the group, Furtado released her debut single “Party’s Just Begun (Again)”.

Her debut album Whoa! Nelly was released in 2000 to worldwide success with hits such as “I’m Like a Bird”, “Turn Off the Light”, and “…On the Radio (Remember the Days)”. It received four Grammy nominations and one of the singles won for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. It’s sold nine-million copies worldwide to date. Folklore is Furtado’s second album released in 2003. The album was not as successful as the previous one due to change in sound. “Try” and “Powerless (Say What You Want)” were the only top-ten hits from the album.
