Released: November 6, 2010

[Verse 1: Liam & Niall & Niall and Louis ]
Looking out a dirty old window
Down below the cars in the city go rushing by
I sit here alone and I wonder why
Friday night and everyone's moving
I can feel the heat but it's soothing, heading down
I search for the beat in this dirty town

[Pre-Chorus: Harry and Zayn]
Downtown, the young ones are going
Downtown, the young ones are growing

[Chorus: All]
We're the kids in America, oh oh
We're the kids in America, oh oh
Everybody live for the music-go-round

[Verse 2: Liam & Niall & Niall and Louis ]
Bright lights, the music gets faster
Look, girl, don't check on your watch, not another glance
I'm not leaving now, honey, not a chance
Hot-shot, give me no problems
Much later, baby, you'll be saying nevermind
You know life is cruel, life is never kind

[Pre-Chorus: Harry and Zayn]
Kind hearts don't make a new story
Kind hearts don't grab any glory

[Chorus: All]
We're the kids in America, oh oh
We're the kids in America, oh oh
Everybody live for the music-go-round

[Bridge]
La la la la-la la-a, sing!
La la la la-la la, sing!
La la la la-la la-a, sing!
La la la la-la la

[Outro: All & (Zayn) & Harry]
We're the kids
We're the kids
We're the kids in America
We're the kids (oh, yeah)
We're the kids
We're the kids in America
Because...

[Chorus: All]
We're the kids in America, oh oh
We're the kids in America, oh oh
Everybody live for the music-go-round

One Direction

One Direction was an English-Irish pop band based in London, consisting of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and previously Zayn Malik. They signed with Simon Cowell’s record label Syco Records after being formed and finishing third in the seventh series of the British televised singing competition The X Factor in 2010. Check out their journey on the competition here.

Propelled to international success by the power of social media, their two albums Up All Night and Take Me Home, released in 2011 and 2012 respectively, broke several records, topped the charts of most major markets, and generated hit singles, including “What Makes You Beautiful” and “Live While We’re Young.”

Their third album, Midnight Memories, introduced a maturing sound. Singles including “Best Song Ever” and “Story of My Life” became smash hits. The music video for “Best Song Ever” even broke the one-day Vevo record, racking up 10.9 million views in 24 hours.
