[Verse 1]
There were days when each hour
Was a war I fought to survive
There were nights full of nightmares
And I dreaded closing my eyes
There were skies that burst open
With a downpour to drown me alive
But the world took a spark like a match in the dark
And the fire brought me to life

[Pre-Chorus]
So I'm fanning the flames to climb so high
Because there's no other way we can stay alive

[Chorus]
Because we're burning bright as we all unite
And when it's all said and done we'll shine like the sun
So don't let the fire die
And we'll watch the sky as it fills with light
And though the embers are new, whatever you do
Just don't let the fire die

[Verse 2]
And you'll find, there'll be mornings
When the ashes and embers are cold
But you'll fight with a passion
And you'll never stop cause you know
Yeah you know it gets better
And your story is yet to be told
Every push, every shove, every war, every love
Yeah the coals are beginning to glow

[Pre-Chorus]

[Chorus]

[Verse 3]
Don't let the fire die
It gets better
Just don't let the fire die, no

[Chorus]

[Outro]
And though the embers are new, whatever you do
Just don't let the fire die
Don't let the fire die

Owl City

Originally making songs in his basement for his friends as Sky Sailing, Adam Young then discovered synth music and became Owl City, releasing two relatively unpopular albums Maybe I’m Dreaming and Of June before making his hit single “Fireflies” which made his third album as Owl City, Ocean Eyes a hit.

After this worldwide success he put on two more albums, All Things Bright and Beautiful in 2011, and The Midsummer Station in 2012. In 2014 he released an EP, Ultraviolet, composed of 4 songs whom one would appear on his following album, Mobile Orchestra. Retiring from Owl City in 2016 to focus on Adam Young Scores, a new project made of orchestral soundtracks about historic events, he reappeared in 2017 to tease his upcoming new album Cinematic, with the release of a series of three EPs, called Reel 1 , 2 and 3.
