[Verse 1]
Sunset's painting up the sky
There's something in my eye
Why am I crying?
It's the fourth of July

[Verse 2]
Friends come up to me and say
"It's gonna be your day"
Why are they lying?
On the fourth of July

[Bridge]
Could it have something to do with the fact
That I've been feeling blue since Friday?
You came in with him again
And, suddenly, I knew it wasn't my day
Oh no, well, anyway

Choo doo doo doo doo doo doo ah
Ch-ch-choo doo doo doo ah
Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo do

[Bridge]
Could it have something to do with the fact
That I've been feeling blue since Friday?
You walked in with him again
And, suddenly, I knew it wasn't my day
Oh no, well, anyway
Oh, well, anyway
Well, anyway
Oh no no, well, anyway

[Verse 1 - Outro]
Sunset's painting up the sky
There's something in my eye
Why am I crying?
On the fourth of July
Why am I crying?
On the fourth of July
Ooh, why am I- why am I crying?
It's the fourth of July

Paul McCartney & Wings

Paul McCartney and Wings, also known simply as Wings, were an Anglo-American rock band formed in 1971 by former Beatle Paul McCartney with his wife Linda McCartney on keyboards, session drummer Denny Seiwell, and former Moody Blues guitarist Denny Laine. Wings were noted for frequent personnel changes as well as commercial success, going through three lead guitarists and four drummers. However, the core trio of the McCartneys and Laine remained intact throughout the group’s existence until 1981.
