[Verse 1]
I shut and locked the front door
No way in or out
I turned and walked the hallway
And pulled the curtains down
I knelt and emptied the mouth of every plug around
But nothing's sound, nothing's sound
I'd stay but my last cab left me
Ignored all my rounds
Soon I was seeing visions and cracks along the walls
They were upside down
[Chorus]
I swallow my words to keep from lying
I swallow my face just to keep from biting, I, I
I swallowed my breath and went deep, I was diving, diving
I surfaced when all of my being was enlightened
[Refrain]
I'm in hiding
I'm in hiding
I'm in hiding
I'm in hiding
[Verse 2]
It's been about three days now
Since I've been aground
No longer overwhelmed and it seems so simple now
It's funny when things change so much
It's all state of mind
[Spoken Word: Eddie Vedder]
How's it goin'? Are you flowin'? I walked in here earlier; it's hard not to notice the difference. It's like these people are all free, and those people are all in prison. Do they have, uh, beer and appetizers and caviar in prison? I've always wanted to know. And where does Ted Turner sit? Right in the middle there, that big king spot? Hi Ted. Anyways, uh, I only mention Ted because they've discovered a new planet yesterday. I don't know if you've heard. It's true. And it's only 6 light- no, 10 lightyears away. Which I think the picture on our cover is 120 lightyears or something. A lightyear is 6 trillion miles. So, we are all that big. Anyways, they discovered it yesterday, and Ted Turner's already made an offer. But this seems like a nice building, and we're happy to play here. And uh he owns it, but he doesn't own us. And uh, the the next song is called "Daughter."
