Hi, this is Irene Vegas for Facts On Fame and we're here at R. Kelly's packed out Rockland Cafe's grand opening and what an event this is
Let me tell you, there are celebrities here from all over the globe
The players, the top ballers are here
The finest cars, from Bentleys ajours to V12's just rolling in
Oh, speaking of top ballers, here's R. Kelly right now
Let's see if we can get the facts
R. Kelly, hi, Irene Vegas with Facts On Fame, I want to ask you some questions
Go right ahead
Well, first of all, I've got to say, this grand opening is the bomb. How do you feel?
Doggish
Well, aren't we being honest?
You want the facts though
Well, since you put it like that, let me ask you some other questions. What turns R. Kelly on?
What turns me on? You and all these lovely honies here tonight
Oh, is that right?
Yeah
Well, do they make you happy?
Make me happy? Uh-huh
Would you say they turn you on?
I'd say they turn me on but I ain't say they made me happy
Well, how do you feel about award shows? Do those things make you happy?
What you mean?
Well you know, award shows like, win an award. How do you feel about that?
Man, it feels good. It feels good to win anything though
But does it make you happy?
Put it like this, hold on, man! Hold up, I'm coming. It's the, ayy, man, save me one of those Cubans. Yeah, it feels good though
Well, let me just put it like this, what makes R. Kelly happy?
And that's the question of the night, the loot

R. Kelly

Robert Kelly is a Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, and producer from the South Side of Chicago, Illinois, where he first started performing under the “L” subway tracks as a teenager. This led into his first album, Born Into the 90’s, being released in 1992 as a collaboration between R. Kelly and Public Announcement. R. Kelly wrote and produced the entire album, which contained the #1 R&B hits “Honey Love” and “Slow Dance,” along with the Top 10 R&B hits “She’s Got That Vibe” (#7) and “Dedicated” (#9). The following year, Kelly went on to become a solo act.

In 1993, he released his first solo album, 12 Play, featuring the hits “Bump N' Grind” and “Your Body’s Callin'.” He released a self-titled album in 1995 featuring the hits “Down Low (Nobody Has To Know)” and “You Remind Me of Something,” while his 1998 double album, R., featured a string of hits, including “I Am Your Angel” with Celine Dion, “When a Woman’s Fed Up,” and his Grammy Award-winning song “I Believe I Can Fly” from the Space Jam soundtrack.

The success of these albums led to him becoming an in-demand producer in the ‘90s, writing and producing #1 hits for Aaliyah (“Back & Forth”), Janet Jackson (“Any Time, Any Place (Remix)”), Changing Faces (“G.H.E.T.T.O.U.T”), Maxwell (“Fortunate”), and Michael Jackson (“You Are Not Alone”).
