[Michael Stipe:]
"This is another Chronic Town tip. Here we go."
"Lots of death in this one, too. I don't know where I was in the early '80s, but... Here we go."

[Verse 1]
Secluded in a marker stone
Not only deadlier - smarter, too
Smarter, too
All along the ruins
The secret in the ruin
Secluded in a marker stone
Not only deadlier - smarter, too
Smarter, too

[Chorus]
I could live a million
I could live a million
I could live a million
I could live a million years

[Verse 1]
Secluded in a marker stone
Not only deadlier - smarter, too
Smarter, too
All along the ruins
The secret in the ruin
Secluded in a marker stone
Not only deadlier - smarter, too
Smarter, too

[Chorus]
I could live a million
I could live a million
I could live a million
I could live a million years

[Verse 2]
All along, all along, all along the moor
The secret in, a secret in, the secret in the ruin
Secluded in a marker stone
Not only deadlier - smarter, too
Smarter, too

[Chorus]
I could live a million
I could live a million
I could live a million
I could live a million years

[Michael Stipe:]
"Third verse, same as the first!"

R.E.M.

R.E.M. were an American rock band from Athens, Georgia, formed in 1980 by singer Michael Stipe, guitarist Peter Buck, bassist Mike Mills, and drummer Bill Berry.

Berry quit the band in April 1997, as they were getting together to record demos for the album Up. He was not replaced on a permanent basis, but the band used an assortment of drummers in his place.
