(Love takes time) If we could turn back time
(Love takes time) Oh, if we could go back to the beginning
(Love takes time) If we could rewind the clock
(Love takes time) We could have timed it down to the minute

We had some words today
That blew the clouds away
They were long overdue
And now the air is clear
About the whole affair
Apologies from me to you

Time love and love takes time
If you deny love you'll lose your mind
Just relax then you'll get it
'Cause your heart knows what's in it
And what goes around comes around
And don't you forget it

(Love takes time) If we could turn back time, yeah
(Love takes time) If we could go back to the beginning
(Love takes time) Love is all compromise
(Love takes time) But with some patience you'll find you're winning

It strikes like lightning
And changes everything
Your whole point of view
Opens all kind of doors
So now my heart is yours
With compliments from me to you

Time love and love takes time
If you deny love you'll lose your mind
Just relax then you'll get it
'Cause your heart knows what's in it
And what goes around comes around
And don't you forget it

You can't rush it
It takes tender, loving care
If you're gonna make it there
Through the ups and downs
You'll get turned around, oh
But I'll hang in there with you, oh

Time love and love takes time
If you deny love you'll lose your mind
Just relax then you'll get it
'Cause your heart knows what's in it
And what goes around comes around
And don't you forget it, babe

(Love takes time and it's worth learning) Yeah
(Love takes time to grow, my darling)
If we can rewind the clocks
(Love takes time and it's worth learning)
(Love takes time to grow, my darling)
They would have turned right around to love

Robert Palmer

Robert Allen Palmer (19 January 1949 – 26 September 2003) was an English singer-songwriter[1] and musician. He was known for his distinctive soulful voice, eclectic mix of musical styles on his albums, combining soul, jazz, rock, pop, reggae and blues and sartorial acumen. He found success both in his solo career and with the Power Station, and had Top 10 songs in both the UK and the US.

His iconic music videos directed by British fashion photographer Terence Donovan for the hits “Addicted to Love” and “Simply Irresistible” featured identically dressed dancing women with pale faces, dark eye makeup and bright red lipstick, which resembled the women in the art of Patrick Nagel, an artist popular in the 1980s. Palmer’s involvement in the music industry commenced in the 1960s, covered four decades and included a spell with Vinegar Joe.
