Scott Walker

Scott Walker (January 9, 1943 – March 22, 2019) was an American-born singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer who came to prominence in the 1960s as one third of The Walker Brothers. After the trio split up, Scott went full avant-garde and became a British cult darling; a path which he continued down into the 21st century. He put out such challenging experimental albums as 1995’s Tilt, 2006’s The Drift, 2012’s Bisch Bosch, and 2014’s Soused—a collaborative album with drone metallists Sunn O)))—as well as movie scores such as 2016’s The Childhood of a Leader.

His first four solo albums, Scott I-IV, played a pivotal role in his transition from popstar to experimental concept artist, and, to many, eclipsed his achievements with his previous group. He inspired many other artists ranging from David Bowie to Radiohead.
