[Verse 1]
We were young, it was summer
Just a little town on the edge of the water
I've never been down there before
I met ya, picking up shells on that seashore
Your smile was pulling me under
Then you said your name, and it was game over

[Chorus 1]
Yeah girl, I fell so far in love with you
'Cause I told my heart I had nothing to lose
When time ain't on your side
You're wondering which kiss is going to mean goodbye
And I opened up and threw all my love your way
Said words to you I'd never heard me say
I just sat there that night
And let your Carolina eyes pull me in
'Cause I never thought I'd see you again

[Verse 2]
If I'd only known a feeling like that
Would hit me once and it'd never come back
I'd of gone ahead and made you mine
Instead of trying to move on and wasting my time
Looking for what I already found
A few years back in that little beach town

[Bridge]
Is it luck running into you so unexpectedly
Or is it fate that put you here in front of me

Scotty McCreery

Scotty McCreery is an American country singer-songwriter from Garner, North Carolina. After winning the tenth season of American Idol, his debut single, “I Love You This Big”, hit number 11 on the Hot 100. His debut album Clear as Day was then released on October 4, 2011 and topped the Billboard 200. He became the first Idol winner to top the albums chart with his debut release since Ruben Studdard did it in 2003 with Soulful. He also became the youngest artist to debut at number one with their first album and the first country artist to do so as well. Clear as Day went platinum in the US and has sold more than 1.1 million copies there.

See You Tonight was released on October 15, 2013 as McCreery’s third album; it followed a 2012 Christmas album. Despite peaking at number six on the Billboard 200 and featuring McCreery’s first two singles to place in the top ten on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, See You Tonight was less successful than Clear as Day. McCreery was dropped by his label, Mercury Nashville, in 2016. A year later, McCreery self-released the single, “Five More Minutes”, which became his first song to top country radio. That same year, McCreery signed with Triple Tigers Records, and a year later, he released his fourth studio album, Seasons Change, which produced two more number one radio singles.
