Lives and loves, don't tell me about it
To respond to something permanent, you've got to be strong
Mmm... lives and loves
Only you know in your heart how the pain felt
How the love made you melt, me and you love
We have a way that seems to brighten up the day
We have our problems
Is the whole world asking is it worth it?
All the lovers in the world should they go on?
After all, they say you only live once

Lives and loves, only you know in your heart
How the pain felt, how the love made you melt
Me and you love, we have a way
That seems to brighten up the day
We have our problems
Is the whole world asking is it worth it?
All the lovers in the world, should they go on?
On and on and on

Oohhh, lives and loves, don't tell me about it
Someone always gets hurt in it, you've got to be strong
Hey...lives and loves
Only we know in our hearts how the pain felt
Oh your love made me melt, me and you love
We had a way that seemed to brighten up the day
We had our problems
Is the whole world asking is it worth it?
All the lovers in the world, should they go on?
After all, they say you only live once

Simply Red

Simply Red is a British soul and pop band. The first incarnation of the band was a punk group called The Frantic Elevators, whose seven-year run produced limited releases on local labels and ended in 1984 upon critical acclaim for their final single, “Holding Back the Years”.

By early 1985, Mick Hucknall and manager Elliot Rashman had assembled a band of local session musicians and begun to attract record company attention. The group adopted the name “Red” (after Hucknall’s nickname, denoting his hair colour) but then Mick decided it would sound better with the addition of the word ‘Simply.’

Since the mid 1980s, the band has sold more than 50 million albums.
