On the plane to Amsterdam
I left the carnage on the ground
In your seat was emptiness
So heavy, we could barely ride it down

And every color since I walked away
Looks to me like every shade of wrong

But now I'm on the way back
Chasing something better
And it's turning me around
Baby if you still care
If there's still a burning ember
I'm ready to surrender now

The illness of my galaxy
Made you revolve around my world
But I cast myself as the brightest star
Falling further rom the girl

All the things I thought were made of gold
Turned out to be every shade of wrong

But now I'm on the way back
Chasing something better
And it's turning me around
Baby if you still care
If there's still a burning ember
I'm ready to surrender now

I left the promise bleeding
Cold and barely breathing
Can you still hold on

But now I'm on the way back
Chasing something better
And it's turning me around
Baby if you still care
If there's still a burning ember
I'm ready to surrender now

Ready to surrender
I'm ready to surrender

Sister Hazel

Sister Hazel is an American alternative rock band from Gainesville, Florida, whose style blends elements of jangle pop, folk rock, classic rock ‘n’ roll and southern rock. Their music is characterized by highly melodic tunes and prominent harmonies. Most of their songs have optimistic lyrics. The band’s instrumentation often features abrupt shifts among electric, acoustic and a cappella, with striking use of tacets. Though often described as alternative, Sister Hazel leans toward an upbeat sound and away from the clashing punk discordance often associated with the alternative rock genre. There have been no changes to the band’s main lineup after over 20 years, although guitarist Ryan Newell was only listed as a guest musician on their debut album, and non-original member Dave LaGrande has been touring with them since 2012.
