[Verse 1: Sy Smith]
Ooh, I'm on fire
Life has just begun
My only, desire
Have myself some fun
I've got money but nobody
No one to call my own
Feel so lonely, I'm tired
Tired of being alone

[Pre-Chorus:]
Heading for the city lights
Dance away the blues all night
Going to a place I know
Where the party people people go

[Chorus:]
It's just one of them nights
One of them nights you feel like getting down
It's just one of them nights
One of them nights you feel like getting down

Sing it, Rah!

[Verse 2: Rahsaan Patterson]
Life is for living
I'm gonna have it all
Gonna step out, check what's happening
And have myself a ball
I'm gonna step out, step on out
And get into a groove (step into a groove)
Gonna bring out this fire
'Cause there's no time to lose

[Pre-Chorus]

[Chorus] (2x)

[Bridge:]
New York City lights
Showing me the way
Take me to the heights
Gonna learn all night 'til the break of day

[Pre-Chorus]

[Chorus]

[Vamp:]
Step out yeah, to the groove
Step out yeah, get into the groove
Step out yeah, to the groove
I wanna do it!

Sy Smith

After graduating from Howard University with a degree in Psychology, eclectic underground singer/songwriter Sy Smith launched her music career with the appropriately titled debut Psykosoul on Hollywood Records in 1999.

She decided to take control of her career and start her own label, Psykosoul Records. Independently, Sy released her follow-ups The Syberspace Social and Conflict to critical acclaim. In 2012, she veered into electronic soul for the Mark de Clive-Lowe-produced Fast and Curious featuring the hit single “Truth.”

Between releases, Sy has kept her star visible with appearances in music (as supporting vocalist for Whitney Houston, Chris Botti, Chaka Khan, Sheila E.), television (Ally McBeal, Soul Food, American Idol), and commercials (GAP Clothing). She regularly collaborates with Zo! and Phonte of The Foreign Exchange.
