[Verse 1: Jermaine Jackson & (The Jacksons)]
You do me wrong but still I'm crazy about you
Stay away too long and I can't live without you
Every chance you get you seem to hurt me more and more
But each hurt makes my love grow stronger than before
I know flowers go through rain
But how can love grow through pain? (Pain, pain)

[Chorus: Jermaine Jackson & (The Jacksons)]
Ain't that peculiar?
(Ain't that peculiar?)
Peculiar as can be
(Ain't that peculiar?)
Ain't that peculiar, baby
(Ain't that peculiar?)
Peculiar-ality
(Ain't that peculiar?)

[Verse 2: Jermaine Jackson & (The Jacksons)]
You tell me lies that should be obvious to me (You tell me lies)
I'm so much in love with you baby 'til I don't wanna see
That things you do and say are designed to make me blue
It's a doggone shame my love for you
Makes all your lies seem true
But if the truth makes love last longer
Why do lies make our love stronger? (Stronger, stronger, stronger)

[Chorus: Jermaine Jackson & (The Jacksons)]
Ain't that peculiar?
(Ain't that peculiar?)
Peculiar as can be
(Ain't that peculiar?)
Ain't that peculiar, baby?
(Ain't that peculiar?)
Peculiar-ality
(Ain't that peculiar?)
Oh yeah

[Bridge: Jermaine Jackson & (The Jacksons)]
Peculiar (Peculiar)
You're so peculiar, baby (You're so peculiar, baby)
Ah ha ha (Ah ha ha)
Hey hey (Hey hey, everybody clap your hands)
Ah ha ha (Ah ha ha)
Yeah yeah (Yeah yeah)
Peculiar (Peculiar)
You're so peculiar, baby (You're so peculiar, baby)
Ah ha ha (Ah ha ha)
Hey hey (Hey hey)
Ah ha ha (Ah ha ha)
Yeah yeah (Yeah yeah)
(Peculiar, ain't that peculiar?)
Give it to us, sing
(Peculiar, ain't that peculiar?)
(Peculiar, ain't that peculiar? Alright)
(Peculiar, ain't that peculiar?)

[Interlude: Michael Jackson]
Yeah, hoo, thank you very much
Arigato
Thank you very much, love you all

[Bridge: Jermaine Jackson & (The Jacksons)]
Peculiar (Peculiar)
You're so peculiar, baby (You're so peculiar, baby)
Ah ha ha (Ah ha ha)
Hey hey (Hey hey, everybody clap your hands)
Ah ha ha (Ah ha ha)
Yeah yeah (Yeah yeah)
(Peculiar, ain't that peculiar?)
Give it to us, sing
(Peculiar, ain't that peculiar?)
Sing it, brothers, one more time
(Peculiar, ain't that peculiar? Alright)
(Peculiar, ain't that peculiar?)

[Outro: Michael Jackson]
Thank you
Arigato, everybody
I'd like to thank Mary for presenting me with flowers
Thank you

The Jackson 5

The Jackson 5 were originally formed in 1963 under the name, The Jackson Brothers. The founding members were Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, and Marlon. Michael would join the group as the lead singer a year later, a move which pushed Jermaine to sing the backing vocals and play the lead guitar.

After participating in a series of talent shows, they entered the professional music scene in 1967, signing with Steeltown Records and releasing ten singles. In 1969, they left Steeltown Records in order to sign with Motown.

In 1975, most of the Jacksons had opted out of recording any more music for Motown, expressing desires to have creative control over their songs, as well as royalties. Learning that they were earning only 2.8% of royalties from Motown, Joe Jackson, the father and manager of the group, began to negotiate a lucrative contract with Epic records, which offered a royalty rate of 20% per record. The deal was completed in June 1975. As Motown owned the name The Jackson 5, the group simply renamed themselves The Jacksons.
