[Intro: The Jackson 5]
Mama, oh Mama
I found that girl
Mama, oh Mama
I found that girl

[Verse 1: Jermaine Jackson]
Mama, life for me now
Is a new sensation
Just like you said it would be
With the right situation
Now love has a meaning
I have a goal
This feeling inside me now
Makes yesterday a hundred years old
Now I understand (I understand)
What it is to be a man (To be a man)
The way you explained it to me that day
You said only the right girl
Can make me feel this way

[Chorus: The Jackson 5]
Mama, oh Mama, I found that girl
Mama, oh Mama, I found that girl

[Verse 2: Jermaine Jackson]
Mama, she's that beautiful dream
That I dream each night
She's that bird of love
On whose wings I'm in flight
She's those words left
When there's no more to say
She's my sunshine
At the end of a perfect day

[Pre-Chorus: Jermaine Jackson & (The Jacksons)]
All this lets me find (Lets me find)
A reason to be alive (Be alive)
That day when you set me upon your knee
You said only the right girl
Could be all these things

[Chorus: The Jackson 5]
Mama, oh Mama, I found that girl
Mama, oh Mama, I found that girl

[Interlude: Jermaine Jackson & Jackie Jackson]
Oh oh oh, oh oh oh, ooh ooh ooh
Say, brother Jermaine
Yeah, Jackie
Have you found that girl yet?
Yeah
Show her to me
She's right over there
Where?
See her? She's right over there
Where?
The one over there in yellow dress
You see the one in the red dress over here?
No, I didn't see her
Over here in the red dress
Oh, yeah
She's foxy, foxy, foxy
Why don't you just sing to her, Jermaine?
Won't you take me with you
Won't you take me with you, girl
I know you're not there alone now
And I wanna be your man
That's why I gotta say

[Chorus: The Jackson 5]
Mama, oh Mama, I found that girl
Mama, oh Mama, I found that girl
Mama, oh Mama, I found that girl
Mama, oh Mama, I found that girl
Mama, oh Mama

[Outro: The Jackson 5]
Thank you very much
Thank you, kind folks

The Jackson 5

The Jackson 5 were originally formed in 1963 under the name, The Jackson Brothers. The founding members were Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, and Marlon. Michael would join the group as the lead singer a year later, a move which pushed Jermaine to sing the backing vocals and play the lead guitar.

After participating in a series of talent shows, they entered the professional music scene in 1967, signing with Steeltown Records and releasing ten singles. In 1969, they left Steeltown Records in order to sign with Motown.

In 1975, most of the Jacksons had opted out of recording any more music for Motown, expressing desires to have creative control over their songs, as well as royalties. Learning that they were earning only 2.8% of royalties from Motown, Joe Jackson, the father and manager of the group, began to negotiate a lucrative contract with Epic records, which offered a royalty rate of 20% per record. The deal was completed in June 1975. As Motown owned the name The Jackson 5, the group simply renamed themselves The Jacksons.
