[Verse 1: Jermaine Jackson]
Oh, my sweet darlin', I still love you
So I'm making up with you
Tears in our eyes, testify
Breaking up is hard to do

[Pre-Chorus: Jermaine Jackson & (The Jacksons)]
(The way you kiss my lips)
The way you kiss me and love me (Love me)
Make me come runnin' to your door
(The way you let me in)
The way you let me in and hug me
(Let's me know we're forever more)

[Chorus: Jermaine Jackson & (The Jacksons)]
And I'm so happy I gave my love back to you (Back to you)
I'm so happy you saved your love for me
(I'm so happy we love each other)

[Verse 2: Jermaine Jackskon & (The Jacksons)]
Ooh, all of the heartaches (Heartaches) we go through
Would be a blessing in disguise
Your patience (Patience) is a virtue
Now can dry each other's eyes

[Pre-Chorus: Jermaine Jackson & (The Jacksons)]
(Come on and kiss me)
Come on and kiss me and love me (Love me)
Now that our hearts feel happiness
Because I need you (Need you)
And you need me
(To find our way through lonely nights)

[Chorus: Jermaine Jackson & (The Jacksons)]
I'm so happy I gave my love back to you (Back to you)
I'm so happy you saved your love for me
(I'm so happy we love each other)

[Outro: Jermaine Jackson & (The Jacksons)]
I'm so happy I feel like singing
Doodle-loodle-loo-doo-doo
I'm so happy I feel like singing
Doodle-loodle-loo-doo-doo
Oh, yeah yeah yeah yeah, oh no, back to you (Back to you)
I'm so happy you saved your love for me
(I'm so happy we love each other)
Thank you

The Jackson 5

The Jackson 5 were originally formed in 1963 under the name, The Jackson Brothers. The founding members were Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, and Marlon. Michael would join the group as the lead singer a year later, a move which pushed Jermaine to sing the backing vocals and play the lead guitar.

After participating in a series of talent shows, they entered the professional music scene in 1967, signing with Steeltown Records and releasing ten singles. In 1969, they left Steeltown Records in order to sign with Motown.

In 1975, most of the Jacksons had opted out of recording any more music for Motown, expressing desires to have creative control over their songs, as well as royalties. Learning that they were earning only 2.8% of royalties from Motown, Joe Jackson, the father and manager of the group, began to negotiate a lucrative contract with Epic records, which offered a royalty rate of 20% per record. The deal was completed in June 1975. As Motown owned the name The Jackson 5, the group simply renamed themselves The Jacksons.
