[Verse 1: Michael Jackson]
Listen, my friends, while I tell you
About a girl that's so defined, yeah
I love her for the joy she brought me
'Cause she's mine, all mine

[Chorus: Michael Jackson]
Oh, Jamie, yeah
Talkin' 'bout Jamie
I'm talkin' about my Jamie
That's my girl, yeah

[Verse 2: Michael Jackson]
Hair so long and pretty
Eyes that like gold, yeah
She has the kind of love for me, nnow
That would never, never go

[Chorus: Michael Jackson]
Oh, Jamie, yeah
Talkin' about Jamie
I'm talkin' 'bout Jamie
That's my girl

[Bridge: Michael Jackson]
Ooh, she comforts me when I'm so sad now
She sticks with me when times are bad now
She kisses me and hold me so tight, yeah
To me, she's out of sight, yeah
Uh huh, yeah, ha

[Verse 3: Michael Jackson]
Lips are warm and tender
Kisses so divine, yeah
I thank the Lord up above
For making Jamie all mine
I'm so glad to belong to her
And she's mine, all mine

[Outro: Michael Jackson]
Oh, Jamie, yeah
I'm talkin' 'bout Jamie
Talkin' 'bout Jamie
That's my girl, yeah
Ha, here she comes, ha
Ooh, I'm talkin' about Jamie, ah yeah
I'm talkin' about Jamie, ooh, ah yeah
I'm talkin' about Jamie, Jamie, Jamie
I'm talkin' about Jamie

The Jackson 5

The Jackson 5 were originally formed in 1963 under the name, The Jackson Brothers. The founding members were Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, and Marlon. Michael would join the group as the lead singer a year later, a move which pushed Jermaine to sing the backing vocals and play the lead guitar.

After participating in a series of talent shows, they entered the professional music scene in 1967, signing with Steeltown Records and releasing ten singles. In 1969, they left Steeltown Records in order to sign with Motown.

In 1975, most of the Jacksons had opted out of recording any more music for Motown, expressing desires to have creative control over their songs, as well as royalties. Learning that they were earning only 2.8% of royalties from Motown, Joe Jackson, the father and manager of the group, began to negotiate a lucrative contract with Epic records, which offered a royalty rate of 20% per record. The deal was completed in June 1975. As Motown owned the name The Jackson 5, the group simply renamed themselves The Jacksons.
