Songwriter: Mel Larson Jerry Marcellino

Producer: Willie Hutch

[Intro: The Jackson 5 & Michael Jackson]
Love, love scenes, love scenes
(Ooh girl)

[Verse 1: Michael Jackson]
You are a part of my life I needed so bad
And I'd never forget the good times we had
Like we starred in a movie, the life that we said
Might think of the heart, and you're what it said

[Chorus: The Jackson 5 & Michael Jackson]
Love scenes, ooh ooh
That was yesterday, you weren't thinkin' 'bout today
(Thinkin' 'bout, thinkin' 'bout)
Ooh girl

[Verse 2: Michael Jackson]
All the tears you cry, which is part of the act
As the days go by, I know it's a fact
And now I can see
What happened to you and me

[Chorus: The Jackson 5 & Michael Jackson]
Hey, love scenes, ooh ooh
That was yesterday, you weren't thinkin' 'bout today
(Thinkin' 'bout, thinkin' 'bout)
Ooh girl
Ooh baby, ooh baby (Oh)
Love scenes, ooh ooh
That was yesterday, you weren't thinkin' 'bout today
(Thinkin' 'bout, thinkin' 'bout)
Ooh baby, ooh baby

[Verse 3: Michael Jackson]
You played the final scene, and walked out of my life
But the unhappy ending you think was so right
I pray that had landed on the cutting room floor
And it hurt me so bad, and I still love you more and more

[Chorus: The Jackson 5 & Michael Jackson]
Love scenes, ooh ooh
That was yesterday, you weren't thinkin' 'bout today
(Thinkin' 'bout, thinkin' 'bout)
Buh buh bum bum bum
Love scenes, ooh ooh
That was yesterday, you weren't thinkin' 'bout today, oh
Love scenes, ooh ooh
That was yesterday, you weren't thinkin' 'bout today, na na na
Love scenes, ooh ooh
That was yesterday, you weren't thinkin' 'bout today, na na na na na na
Love scenes, ooh ooh
That was yesterday, you weren't thinkin' 'bout today

The Jackson 5

The Jackson 5 were originally formed in 1963 under the name, The Jackson Brothers. The founding members were Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, and Marlon. Michael would join the group as the lead singer a year later, a move which pushed Jermaine to sing the backing vocals and play the lead guitar.

After participating in a series of talent shows, they entered the professional music scene in 1967, signing with Steeltown Records and releasing ten singles. In 1969, they left Steeltown Records in order to sign with Motown.

In 1975, most of the Jacksons had opted out of recording any more music for Motown, expressing desires to have creative control over their songs, as well as royalties. Learning that they were earning only 2.8% of royalties from Motown, Joe Jackson, the father and manager of the group, began to negotiate a lucrative contract with Epic records, which offered a royalty rate of 20% per record. The deal was completed in June 1975. As Motown owned the name The Jackson 5, the group simply renamed themselves The Jacksons.
