You need love, like millions do
Someone who's special, who cares for you
I need you, like you need love
But you think my heart is just out for fun

(Who's the one that loves you, the special one who needs you)
You made the odds a million to me
(No one else can love you, nobody else can need you)
No more than the one whose heart you won't believe

So if I have to move a mountain
Simply to prove that you're my love (My love)
That you're my love, baby (My only love)
I'll do it, yes I'd do it (Do it)

To show I love you
In your eyes I see no faith
There's an absence of trust
In your embrace

But why would I pretend to give
Just to take from the person
For whom I live

(I told you that I love you, you're special and I need you)
You're one love in a million was made from the stars
(And maybe you'd believe me then maybe you would need me)
But maybe may not ever convince your stubborn heart

So if I have to move a mountain
Simply to prove that you're my love (My love)
You're my love, baby (My only love)
I'd do it and I'll do it, yes I'll do it for you(Do it)

And if I have to stop a river
To make you believe that I'm the one (The one)
That special one you need (That special one)
I'd do it, yes I'd do it (To show I love you)

(Here I am) Here I am my love
(With tears in my eyes) With tears in my eyes
(Hoping) Hoping (praying) Praying (you'll realize) You'll realize
That there are (Pins and needles sticking in my heart)

(We're so close, but still so far apart)
(What to do, what to do to make you need my love too)
Oh do I have to move a mountain
Simply to prove that you're my love (My love)

That you're my love, baby (My only love)
I'd do it and I'll do it, yes I'll do it for you (Do it)
And if I have to stop a river

To make you believe that I'm the one (The one)
That special one you need (That special one)
I'd do it, yes I'd do it (To show I love you)

So if I have to move a mountain
Simply to prove that you're my love (My love)
That you're my love, baby (My only love)
I'd do it and I'll do it, yes I'll do it for you

The Jackson 5

The Jackson 5 were originally formed in 1963 under the name, The Jackson Brothers. The founding members were Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, and Marlon. Michael would join the group as the lead singer a year later, a move which pushed Jermaine to sing the backing vocals and play the lead guitar.

After participating in a series of talent shows, they entered the professional music scene in 1967, signing with Steeltown Records and releasing ten singles. In 1969, they left Steeltown Records in order to sign with Motown.

In 1975, most of the Jacksons had opted out of recording any more music for Motown, expressing desires to have creative control over their songs, as well as royalties. Learning that they were earning only 2.8% of royalties from Motown, Joe Jackson, the father and manager of the group, began to negotiate a lucrative contract with Epic records, which offered a royalty rate of 20% per record. The deal was completed in June 1975. As Motown owned the name The Jackson 5, the group simply renamed themselves The Jacksons.
