All the guys got their eyes on you
If I blink would you sneak a look would ya if you could
Rumor has it you won’t be true
You break every rule in the book, would ya if you could

Would you make me cry, would you say goodbye
Would you make me cry (ha ah ah aah)
Would ya would ya baby (oh would ya)
Would ya would ya baby (oh would ya would ya baby)

Ooh, ooh, ooh

If you could would you pull those strings
Like a puppet and make me dance would ya if you could
Could it be that you’re using me, yeah
Would you girl if you had a chance would ya if you could

Would you make me cry, would you say goodbye
Would you make me cry (ha ah ah aah)
Would ya, would ya baby (would ya, would ya baby)

Tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me baby would ya, would ya baby (would ya, would ya baby)

If you knew you could change my life
If you could change it from bad to good would ya if you could
If you knew you could make things right (yeah)
Understand and be understood would ya if you could

Would ya want to try, would ya do me right
Would ya wanna try (ha ah ah aah)
Would ya would ya baby (would ya would ya baby)
Would ya would ya baby (would ya would ya baby yeah)
(would ya would ya baby yeah)

Ohh, Ohh

Ohh, would you make me cry (would ya, would ya baby)
Would ya say goodbye yeah (would ya, would ya baby)
Would ya, would ya do me right (would ya, would ya baby

Baby, baby, baby, would ya try (would ya, would ya baby)
Would ya want to try, would ya do me right
Would ya want to try (would ya, would ya baby)
(would ya, would ya baby yeah)

Tell me tell me tell me (would ya, would ya baby)
(would ya, would ya baby yeah, yeah)
Would ya want to try, would ya do me right

The Jackson 5

The Jackson 5 were originally formed in 1963 under the name, The Jackson Brothers. The founding members were Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, and Marlon. Michael would join the group as the lead singer a year later, a move which pushed Jermaine to sing the backing vocals and play the lead guitar.

After participating in a series of talent shows, they entered the professional music scene in 1967, signing with Steeltown Records and releasing ten singles. In 1969, they left Steeltown Records in order to sign with Motown.

In 1975, most of the Jacksons had opted out of recording any more music for Motown, expressing desires to have creative control over their songs, as well as royalties. Learning that they were earning only 2.8% of royalties from Motown, Joe Jackson, the father and manager of the group, began to negotiate a lucrative contract with Epic records, which offered a royalty rate of 20% per record. The deal was completed in June 1975. As Motown owned the name The Jackson 5, the group simply renamed themselves The Jacksons.
