[Verse 1: Daniel Seavey]
Where do I start?
All these thoughts inside my head collide
And I decide I'm stayin' in tonight
They say, "Follow your heart"
But it's beating uncontrollably
I can't hear what it's tellin' me this time

[Pre-Chorus: Zach Herron]
We're dancin' on the edge of anxiety's ledge
And I might fall again, I might fall
We're walkin' on a rope of worry, and I hope
That I don't fall again, I don't fall

[Chorus: Jack Avery]
Take me somewhere I can be
I can be myself (Be myself)
Oh, take me somewhere I am free
Free to be myself and nothin' else

[Verse 2: Jonah Marais & Daniel Seavey]
I've never had pride
For myself and I'm proud of that
'Cause I know that I'm just somebody else
So why do I try? (Why do I try?)
Try to find my validation in what everybody's sayin'
I need some help

[Pre-Chorus: Zach Herron]
We're dancin' on the edge of anxiety's ledge
And I might fall again, I might fall
We're walkin' on a rope of worry, and I hope
That I don't fall again, I don't fall

[Chorus: Jack Avery & All]
Take me somewhere I can be
I can be myself
Oh, take me somewhere I am free
Free to be myself and nothin' else

[Outro: Corbyn Besson]
We're dancin' on the edge of anxiety's ledge
And I might fall again, I might fall

Why Don’t We

Why Don’t We is a boy band consisting of Daniel Seavey, Zach Herron, Corbyn Besson, Jonah Marais and Jack Avery. The members individually gained recognition over social media by posting covers and doing live streams. Seavey was also a contestant on season 14 of the American TV show American Idol. The group started activities on September 27, 2016, with the release of their two singles “Taking You” and “Nobody Gotta Know” and EP Only The Beginning, shortly thereafter.

The band gained a lot of recognition from their 2017 single “Something Different”. They went on to release four EPs in that year, notably gaining recognition for their collaboration with YouTuber Logan Paul, who also directed several of their music videos at this time.

Their first release in 2018, the Ed Sheeran-written “Trust Fund Baby,” ranked #2 on the American iTunes Chart, and was the band’s highest achievement to that date. They released three singles in June, July and August of that year preceding their first full length album on August 31, 2018. “Talk”, the second pre-release, peaked at #1 on the American iTunes Chart, surpassing their personal record just five months later.
