Dion Marquise Hayes (b. November 25, 1993), better known by the stage name 42 Dugg, is a Detroit artist who hails from the East Side. 42 Dugg found himself in trouble with the law early on in life, and by age 15 he was serving a six-year jail sentence. It was while incarcerated that he took up rapping, beginning to take it more seriously upon his release. He dropped his first song “Livin” on November 27, 2017.
From there, the rapper quickly ascended, self-releasing several projects like the 11241 Wayburn mixtape series. His early singles such as “The Streets” caught the attention of Yo Gotti, who signed 42 Dugg to his Collective Music Group label. A joint agreement allowed him to sign on with Lil Baby’s 4PF too.
