Allstar Weekend was an American pop rock band from Poway, California formed in 2007, when Nathan Darmody (Lead Guitar) and Tom Norris (Keyboards, Rhythm Guitar) met in High School. Shortly after the formation of the duo, Zach Porter (Vocals), a friend of Darmody, joined and the trio formed as “Outerspace Politicians” in June 2007. Later joined Michael Martinez (Drums), a local drummer, and Cameron Quiseng (Bass), whom Porter met in Middle School. Norris then left the group to pursue college.
The band rose to fame when they placed second on Radio Disney’s special, Next Big Thing, under the name, “ALLSTAR”. Shortly after, the band signed with Hollywood Records and released their debut extended play “Suddenly” in June 2010. After signing to Hollywood Records, the band changed their name to “Allstar Weekend” stating the catalyst of the name change as legal issues.
Their sophomore album “All The Way” was released in September 2011. Shortly after the release, the band announced Darmody had left the band via Twitter.
