盧凱彤 (Ellen Loo)
Ellen Joyce Loo was born in Toronto Canada on March 27, 1986, but would eventually emigrate to Hong Kong with her family at the age of four.
At the age of 15, Loo was noticed by Hong Kong music industry veteran Anthony Wong Yiu Ming and made her debut alongside Eman Lam in 2001 as a part of the duo at17.
Nine years later, Loo ventured into a solo career in Taiwan, winning “Best musical arrangement in vocals” at the 28th Golden Melody Music Awards. It was here where she officially came out as a lesbian during her acceptance speech and thanking wife Fisher Yu Jing Ping. In the same speech, she also announced that music had saved her life, as she suffered from bipolar disorder and was extremely open about it. Music was a major deciding factor as to why she pursued music as a professional career.
